Macy's acquired the Toys R Us brand licenseing in mid 2021 and slowly after that they started converting the toy section of their stores into a mini Toys R Us. Officially these Toys R Us sections opened up in 2022. Macy's is still rolling out the Toys R Us section to all Macy's stores in America. 2022 was sorta the test market so that meant that you rarely did see Toys R us in Macy's until a few months ago when it became wide spread and more well known.

It's nothing like what Toys R Us was that I grew up with in the early 2000's. But I do remember about 20 years ago or so I wanted to spend my Birthday money on a specific Hot Wheel track set that I saw ads for on Nick. But I forgot that this set was a Toys R Us exclusive. So I had my mom drive around town to several different Wal-marts, Targets, and Meijer's. We almost gave up before we finally decided to try looking at Toys R Us. Just to remind you this was in the early 2000's when you couldn't just Google up store availability. A lot of Americans who grew up with Toys R Us anytime between 1980-2005 don't realize that the 2017 bankruptcy only affected the USA market. While Toys R Us International is going strong in Canada, South East Asia, and Australia.
