Extremely inspirational and thoughtful!!!! Nandita a true feminist and rights activist!!!! Hats off!!! U really inspire us the young girls!!!!
Two beautiful women having a thought-provoking discussion. So calming.
Gender is not equal to women. It is a social construct that puts the different sexes in defined roles; roles defined by society that can and should be challenged. Recognizing this can help to question if those roles are to remain ossified in time. Color is yet another prejudice that can be challenged and should be. Nandita speaks as a true global citizen and seems to be a very humane person.
I so adore this woman.❤
India is so far back. (1950's) in Gender. self struggle
Nandita not enough you need to have more conversations
Ironically in the middle of the video an ad popped up and it was of 'fair and lovely men face wash' starring Yuvraj and Saif.. I have paused the ad while I am typing now! :)
Actually this kind of ads should be banned
Its heartbreaking to know this is a worldwide issue. African Americans have faced this issue for many years.
The fair skin obsession is bad I'm not dark or fair I am just in between, caramel colour and I love my complexion. I faced people saying to me you are light but you not so fair and I'm a guy.
Well that's the way most indians think, like if you fair that means you are better in character, status, intelligence etc...... like what the hell.
And btw fyi dark skin is the natural and pure colour of indians it's our rich natural colour and beauty. Not that fair is bad now but what I'm trying to say that most indians are dark and just a few are lighter so idk why people make it seem like if one isn't not lighter u are less of a good indian. No matter what colour you are God chose to make you that way and he sees you as beautiful so beauty is diversity and saying dark isn't beautiful is like saying God or God's creation is ugly. BTW no one saw God and what if he is dark ???? Then what? 🤣🤣🤣
That is very ironic, because in the African American community we face the same issues
Fire was directed by Deepa Mehta and not Mira Nair .......please make that correction ' Lakshmi Rebecca ' . Nandita Das is definitely very inspiring .....persuasive and on point .
She is very beautiful woman !
She should speak more !!!

Great thinking, these statements deserve broader audience.
genias. las amo.
Intelligent actress... also a great human being.. motivating interview
Pot calling the Kettle black. Gate keepers of public discourse cant digest the fact that there started the issue of branding. How inclusive were the "Commies,Gandhis or Islamists who ran the indian polity. Pity a losing argument and wining for the lost time !
beautiful woman.....don't agree with everything she says.....but she is very attractive...gotta appreciate that & give credit....
