Bonjour chère professeur Hello professor Vous êtes la l'une dans une nuit noire qui me derige vers le succès et la réussite en langue Française. Merci infinement pour vos précieux Conseils. I love you dear Dalyne my best teacher of French.
Hands down the best video clearly explaining this and 'de' in the other video. Way clearer than a very popular channel out there that just puts together a random video with no structure at all. Won't name anyone. Your videos are very well structured and very very clearly explained. thank you so much. Structure and clarity is so important when something is already so confusing. 👏
This lesson did so much order in my head! Thank you! A French philosophy teacher gave me a tip about transportation - if there is no construction that surrounds you (bike, foot) - it's à, unlike a car is (full construction) -it's (usually or always?) en.
Thank you so much for helping me understand this concept, I had been struggling with this for some time. Again, thank you as tomorrow is my exam. Merci beaucoup 😊 ❤😊

Hi Tom. Thanks for suggesting this but all my lessons are made to be taught in English (because I only taught in English). There are a lot of French teachers who speak French on UA-cam. I am sure you can find a channel easily :)
Thank you for this great video. Can I just ask however why is it "Il a fait mal à sa soeur" and not "..à la sa soeur" and in the same vein "On a envoyé une carte de Noël à nos amis" and not "..aux nos amis" ? Thank you for your assistance in advance.
Hi I've been watching your videos lately and I find them interesting I think this is another nice one too but I just don't know how to keep or memorise... any suggestions? Merci
Hi Dylane :) Thank you so much for the videos! One question: In the video, you say that "acheter qqch à qqn" means both "to buy sth FROM and FOR somebody". So, "J'ai acheté un velo à mon oncle" could both mean that I bought a bicycle from my uncle and for my uncle? Or am I mistaken?
Also, in the example at 9:17 where it says in the English translation "The tourist is asking his way to a police officer", is the tourist asking someone how to get to a police officer? Or should it perhaps be that the tourist is asking a police officer how to get somewhere else?
Hi Dylane. I have your book and I'm on Ex 2.2 of prepositions. I am really confused. In the video you said the preposition does not belong to the second verb or the noun. It always belongs to the verb before. In Ex. 2.2 Elle a acheté un collier à sa mère. In the answer sheet it seems that the preposition is belonging to the second verb. What am I missing? Hopefully I explained this properly. Merci!
Great question! "a acheté" is one verb, it's the verb acheter conjugated in passé composé, so it has 2 parts but it's one verb :) So here it's "acheter quelque chose à quelqu'un". I hope it helps :)
what are the rules for noun + à/de + verb/adjective, for example "c'est la responsibilité du gouvernement de financer les écoles", "il n'y a rien à dire", "il y a beaucoup de choses de mieux"? thanks :)
I have a question: Are the verbs followed by the preposition( à ) the only ones that I have to conjugate with lui, elle, leur and eux? So the others I conjugate with le, la, les.etc, right?🤔
Bonjour.... Merci pour votre vidéo. J'ai une question.... Si je parle des états de la République Mexicaine... Je dois dire: j'habite à Jalisco ou J'habite au Jalisco. J'habite à Juarez ou J'habite au Juarez.
À la page 101 du livre, vous avez dit que goûter est suivi par à et veut dire “to taste”. Comment dit-on “ i taste the strawberry”? Je goûte à la fraise ou je goûte la fraise? Merci
Both are fine actually, the difference is very subtle. Without the preposition indicates something that you already tried before. With preposition, something that you are trying for the first time. Je goûte à la fraise = 1st time Je goûte la fraise = You tried it before and you know the taste. I hope it helps :)
You say to study what you'll use but most of what I learn comes from video games. I'm worried that if I go to France I'll only be able to talk about zombie dogs, medieval knights and Lara Croft. lol

I am confused at 10:48? Why is the sentence like that if it's verb+a+infinitive verb? Could someone help me out?
❤
Hey at 3:20 why are you conjugating payer with etre? The passe compose is conjugated with Avoir only.
It's the same way as in English. Here payé is not a verb but an adjective. J'ai payé = I have paid. Il est payé = He is paid
Hii
Can you please explain
If we came on foot then we use (à) proposition and on car we use (en).
How is it work?? Thank you in advance!
à pied / en voiture - There is no real explanation, that's just the way it is. Just remember them by heart :)

When à is followed by a possessive adjective, à doesn't change. à sa, à ma, à son, etc.
hi difference between à, de, pour please

Bonjour, Dylane! I have a question... how come we would say "J'habite en Angleterre" rather than "J'habite à l'Angleterre" ? Merci :D
Georgia it's because Angleterre starts with a vowel. En Anglettere, en Allemagne - En Europe, etc :)
For once, can u explain what is it when u say, ' QQCH'?
QQCH = quelque chose = Something :)

J'ai acheté un velo à mon oncle = for my uncle
J'ai acheté le velo de mon oncle = from my uncle
Here you go :)
the tourist is asking a police officer how to get somewhere else is the right one :)
Hi Dylane. I have your book and I'm on Ex 2.2 of prepositions. I am really confused. In the video you said the preposition does not belong to the second verb or the noun.
