This is such a coincedence. I made this chair in GH last week as well! It happened because I saw a youtuber make this in Blender by SCULPTING it by hand. Can you imagine? So I said to my partner that I thought it was ridiculous to sculpt this by hand, but then it turned out he also printed it in 1:1 scale, from a hand sculped model. That's blasphemy haha. But yeah, it's nice to see how you did it, thanks for sharing your workflow and have a great weekend!
I saw that video as well. Its part of what inspired this tutorial. I also made a Rhino tutorial with the same process. Its much more accurate modeling it using rhino or grasshopper. Thanks for the comment! I would love to see what solution you came up with for this chair as I tried it in different ways, and this is was the one that worked best for me.
@@DCOParametric Hey, that's definitely a coincedence. I agree, it makes a lot more sense to design it parametrically/define it mathematically. I called it blasphemy, but in the end I was pretty impressed how an artist could make this by sculpting and sheer brute force/perseverance. Though it looked like the chair wasn't comfortable at all to sit in. This really seems more of a sculpture than furniture in the end ;) If I find time I'll dig up the sketch!
