Heavy traffic may be an issue however and there are residential areas within a block of the flats, fairly quiet areas (so far) lol. The traffic problem can be solved, lots of room to expand existing roads to add new lanes etc. The biggest hurdle I see is that the north side of the flats border the Ottawa river that seperates the province of Ontario from that of Quebec. Also why does Saskatchewan not have any major teams?
We almost stole the Blues back to Canada in the 1980s. We just don’t have the corporate money needed to support a team, and the way our population is spread out I think it would be tough to fill 17,000 seats a game. Weekend games no problem, but that Wednesday night game in January would be tough, because we would depend on a lot of out of town traffic coming to Saskatoon for games. The difference between Saskatchewan and Manitoba is that the vast majority of the 1.3 million people in Manitoba live around Winnipeg. In Saskatchewan, our 1.1 million are much more spread out across the province. That being said, why Saskatoon doesn’t have an AHL team for Edmonton, Calgary or Winnipeg I don’t know.
Then the Kanata arena can host the AHL Senators once capacity gets reduced, because ultimately the plan is for Ottawa to get a farm team within city limits like the other Canadian based NHL teams that do, not including Edmonton.
Jesus Christ the Palladium opened in 1996. Ottawa has six highway lanes and mass transit serving it. It's an absolute waste to squeeze a new venue into a downtown space and for what result? If this goes ahead it will fail miserably.
Everything about the senators seem so forced. At what point does the NHL realize that they put too much effort into forcing these smaller teams on us. With all that effort, the senators STILL are barely noticeable. Ottawa itself is a city of government workers, they come in for the weekdays and leave on the weekends. It never made sense to put a team there.

The Ottawa Senators are finally going to build their new downtown venue at LeBreton Flats to replace Canadian Tire Centre.
It’s About Time For Ottawa From a Flyers Fan!
That's the spirit!
My man has that carbrain, it's okay bro I'm sure adding another 2 lanes will fix traffic right
@@tranvianoruega8756 odd that I have been to many games coming from Orleans without issue. If you're dumb you are dumb.
@@TheHockeyGuy you bet. Have another donut.
@@bobcarlsson4 dude why are you even here if you don't like shannon?
Everything about the senators seem so forced. At what point does the NHL realize that they put too much effort into forcing these smaller teams on us. With all that effort, the senators STILL are barely noticeable. Ottawa itself is a city of government workers, they come in for the weekdays and leave on the weekends. It never made sense to put a team there.
As if a new arena is gonna do anything to overshadow their poor performance in their attendance woes
