As a teacher for over 40 years in Hawaii I hope that was not a teacher but a parent or chaperon. Whenever we took our students to locations like this in Washington, DC or Pearl Harbor time is spent teaching the protocol of that location. Students are told the immediate consequences of their behavior. It is made personal to them as England and Europe is a location where thousands of men from Hawaii fought and died during WWII. That the uniform that guard wears represents a military unit that their family member who fought and died during WWII may have fought with. That is all information given to the students before they enter the location. Therefore they know they are disrespecting their own family, and country if they disrespect the location. It is a lesson that needs to be taught to have them honor the history of the location. In Hawaii it is called the "mana" of the location. I love watching your videos and have subscribed to your channel. Love your comments!!

Before going to Horse Guards she tells them that firstly, these are highly trained soldiers & horses doing duty, not just an attraction. Secondly, she tells them what is acceptable & what not. What to do if a horse should pull on their clothing, or nibble on them - do NOT wave your arms, or yell. Just gently move away. Recently, when a trooper was out at the horses, he called my daughter over & said the guard had asked him to tell her how much he appreciated the way her group behaved & how respectful they were. This, I feel, should be what all tour directors should do. The guards & their horses deserve respect. Sadly I can only watch from Johannesburg, South Africa!

the Monarchy should notify all of the tour guide companies that disrespect and other offenses will result in a hefty fine and/or their licenses can be revoked - my understanding is they have to be licensed and those who are not should be arrested and fined for not having one - imho

And people are really strenght about their so called "law on the own picture". You know we had two times in German history there the privacy was not secured and had could end deadly. If she really as a teacher, as a retired teacher I think that checking up beforehand on places one is going to, is essential common sense. When travelling abroad and not, with pupils, I still checked eg cover your shoulders if in a Greek church. It could take only 10/15 minutes to check on the country one is going to. So yes, you’re right. The teacher was at fault…not her country. If the boys respected the teacher - they’d have behaved better.

Even in Germany you can film anyone you can see in a public place, age is no restriction. Its a EU Human Right. Teacher should not be teaching. 41:38 That student sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders, lets hope he is not restricted and his mind continues as it is. And his teacher was brilliant, I think he may just be in good hands. Well done for dealing with the second group of German students, John. The first lot were really nice. As for the teacher...hmm? I've acted as a teacher/guide for language students here in the UK, in the past. And the first thing you do is prep them up on the do's and don't's of where they'll be visiting. Then if there are any complaints from members of the public you speak politely to that person and find out what went on. Then you read the riot act to the student and get them to apologise. Well, that's the way the schools I worked in wanted it.

thank you John for another 'intervention' with eejit tourists, who we now know the majority both understand and can speak english, keeping your own safety in mind -
last summer when they were here, few tolerated the touching of reins or even touching their mounts - makes me wonder if some of these guards are very new - at least one certainly wasn't paying attention not even to her horse which has its ears laid back most of the time -
I've always said there should be NO touching of the horses - and a distance away of at least 2-3 feet for photo purposes - the MOD police should be more involved in 'public safety' (and protection of the horse guards) instead of many times in small groups chatting with each other -
I've heard many tour guides (all tour guides speak more than one language per their websites) urging their paying tourists to 'move closer' - a MoD/Monarchy announcement to every tour guide company in England that failure to educate their tourists how to behave and show respect would result in a serious fine might work - or maybe we subscribers should start a letter campaign to the MofD?
