    AGREED 100%. These figures have over 22 points of articulation. Only today is that called a “statue”. I have both Classic and Modern KickStarters and they f’n RULE.

    The cape and the head put me off this figure. Not so much that it has a big crazy stylized cape, because that was expected and I love that it's a throwback to the original, but the original had a removable cape and when you have a big rigid cape like that permanently attached, it ultimately hinders a lot of that articulation. The other big thing is the head, without that head movement again you're making a lot of that articulation kind of useless. On it's own it might not be so bad, but given those two things together and this is a nice looking piece, but for my money it couldn't compete with the MK11 Spawn.

    Josh was curious to see if you’ll be getting the commando spawn figure/statue? I’ve seen them at every GameStop I’ve walked in. I was also surprised when I saw a gold spawn mk11 figure as a Walmart exclusive the other day.....but then again it’s McFarlane, so I shouldn’t be lol.

      You know, I've yet to see that in person yet, so I'm still undecided. I like it, but I'm not crazy about the price point, and I just don't really have the space for something I can't pick up and play with. It would be a great choice if I still had a desk job, I always put a lot of effort into my work space and that would have been the kind of thing to dazzle everyone else in the office.

    I am glad I didnt get it as I prefer the mk spawn. I do this figure isnt on the same level and the mk spawn as it cant be as dynamically posed due to the cape. For what it is thought minues the issue with the heads (pre posed and non movable ones) it's a solid enough figure. If they ever do a spawn with a cloth cape with wires and I'd expect more range and articulation but for what it's supposed to be it's fine. Also really enjoy your channel subbed yesterday keep it up!

    Todd loves his capes almost as much as he loves his chains. Just look up his art for Mr. Bones in the 80s Infinity INC. comic run and it freaking screams Spawn....before Spawn.

    Bro you have such good taste. Man I think all these complaints about Mcfarlanes are legends fans angry that better is available now, and it makes them feel foolish for buying Hasbro's lies for all these years. Mcfarlane is good for the industry. It's no mistake that Hasbros have made marked improvements shortly after Mcfarlane entered thw superhero toygame proper! Yes I keep saying that! Mezcos look good but they're overpriced! And I'd put nearly ANY Mcfarlane Mcfarlane headsculpt/finish/detail bext to a mezco and generally Mcfarlanes are 1/4 the price! It needs to be said, Mcfarlanes look better than imports! Like almost without exception!

    I agree with almost everything you said except for one point that I'm not sure... Did they announced on time that the cape wasn't going to be detachable and the ab wasn't going to be rubber? If they did, then I agree with everything. If they didn't, there's a problem since they said so and Kickstarter is practically based on confidence

    • @JoshFromBefore
      @JoshFromBefore  3 роки тому +1

      I'm not sure where those announcements and alterations occurred on the timeline, but I think some features were announced before pledges closed, then changed after the campaign. Which is unfortunate, but for the most part I feel that there was a good faith effort to fulfill what was promised. I can't blame anyone for being upset, especially if they committed to the campaign because of specific functionality that was intended to be in the final product.

    The Classic is an awesome figure. Sculpt, paint, accessories, packaging, it's all pretty sweet and at the $40 mark, it's quite a deal. The cape prohibiting rotation of the arms above the head is a little annoying, but I'm not sure what the work around would be while a) keeping the cape on the figure and b) not replacing it with some amateurish looking cloth number. The Modern is an ok variant, and is based on cover art of Issue 221, but that's Jim Downing Spawn. This is clearly Al Simmons Spawn, so the boot being on the left foot is a glaring error. No where in the comics does Simmons Spawn appear the way the Modern figure does. Kinda ruins the figure.

    I'm glad they didn't cut that chest and torso... Look cool the way he looks but i didn't like the non removable cape and that some of the heads didn't come with a separate neck and head cut. Im very happy with my spawn kickstarter figure purchase... Bought all three

      @@wilfredodiaz8743 The value totally blows away anything else at the same price range, in both quality and quantity. This thing rocks the house and anyone who acts like it doesn't is fooling themselves.

    I like the ab crunch on the MK spawn a lot better. Plus that's standard for most figures these days. The other spawn torso would look cool if not for it being pre posed in that area.

    • @JoshFromBefore
      @JoshFromBefore  3 роки тому +1

      The "pre posed" torso is hardly noticeable, and it has more personality than just a regular A pose, so I don't really get the beef with it.

    • @souldrum86
      @souldrum86 3 роки тому

      @@JoshFromBefore because the figure should allow the customer to pose it the way they want. There's plenty of figures put there that do. So it's not like a regular torso stays that way. It's up to us to manipulate it. Also there's no beef on my side. I knew what this figure would be like which is why I passed on it. Also it's not a bad figure either.

    • @JoshFromBefore
      @JoshFromBefore  3 роки тому +1

      @@souldrum86 Yeah, but look at the alleged "pre pose," it's not substantial enough to affect the look of the figure however you choose to pose it. It's barely noticeable at all, to the point of being a non-issue, especially since he's more or less locked into a standing pose due to the shape and size of his cape.

    • @souldrum86
      @souldrum86 3 роки тому +1

      @@JoshFromBefore it's all subjective, it may not be as noticeable to you. But for others including myself. It sticks out immediately after a glance at the figure. Again lol it's not a big deal. I was mainly pointing out the fact that for me the MK11 Spawn is the better figure. Because of what it allows me to do.

    • @JoshFromBefore
      @JoshFromBefore  3 роки тому +3

      @@souldrum86 Makes sense to me, and the MK one is a really awesome figure, no doubt about it. Personally, I'd rather see my figures with a little bit of body language so they stand out among other characters. Kickstarter Spawn is a great blend of preposed attitude, with enough articulation to add my own pose at the same time.
