I was in the Individual comp. I liked how you described that it was easy to make friends with people of similar interest. Working on the Ultimate Challenge would have been right up my alley but I am not able to stand for long and those chairs were a nightmare. What I learned from this experience is that I have created a comfy puzzle nest at home that is "just right."
I agree with a change of perspective on a puzzle. I was working a puzzle with my MIL one time and we were both kind of stuck in our parts. We each starting finding pieces on the opposite sides so we just got up and switched seats. WOW what a difference! We both started putting in pieces a lot faster. And yes, the twos. I call them short and squatty and long and lanky. Still hate when those are the only shaped pieces you have to work with on a puzzle.
The tables don't seem large enough to handle the separated pieces. I didn't realize this kind of convention existed. I could have attended with my son. I'm familiar with all the paintings shown, except the modern stuff. As long as they don't make you do Monet's garden with 2000 pieces I'm ok.
What a unique experience! I'm super impressed with what you managed to finish, since 2000 pieces will always take a long time! For the artwork sections (not the solid colors), did you spend a lot of time sorting or just dived into it?
This sounds so fun. Glad you had a good time.
It was!

Next time I'm gonna bring a chair cushion, as they were not comfortable!!

It can really make a difference!

They were plenty big enough. We only had one section on each table, but they were big enough that there could be two sections.

I was just wondering if there was a bigger puzzle count than 1,000 or even 5,000. Now I know.

I didn't do any of the artwork sections - but those who did sorted for over two-three hours before starting.
