This is really the option that convinced me to go 4 door over 2 door. Big work surface, flat cargo area to sleep on and stand on access for a roof rack. This pull out tailgate is next level brilliant to me.
@@Overlanding4Fun the drop down tailgate in the early Broncos added a lot of versatility. I loved backing up to the lake and sitting on the tailgate to fish.
Thanks for the close up look at it. I added it to my Everglades, mainly because I thought it might level the cargo space with the rear seat! Thanks again I feel much better about it. Lol
I have this very same slide out table on my OBX. It did came with it when I purchased the Bronco. I love mine and my wife swears by it, lol 😝. Good product 👍🏼👊🏻
Awesome feedback on the slide out tailgate. I try to give both pros and cons of every item I cover and encourage people to do their own research before they commit to buying something.
Great video Tim. Would like to see this for the 2Dr. It would be really nice to have the back leveled off when the seats are down. Wish I could make it up to the Dream Cruise
I am not sure why they don't have a version for the 2 door. I know the geometry of the cargo area is different in the 2 door, so it would need to be a different design. I am curious what the deck dimensions for the cargo area and the 4 mounting points are.
Unfortunately I don’t have one in my Bronco, I was using the demo Everglades model that Ford had on display at Super Celebration. If I remember right, the deck of the SOT, was only a couple of inches above the deck of the cargo area.
Thanks for the video, been thinking about getting one, as I used to use my F150 tailgate as a workbench. This pull out has some good uses, and also making everything flush in the back is a bonus. Now just need to find it on sale, as I do not have enough Ford points :(
I didn’t want it because of the price I couldn’t justify it, but my vehicle came with it…, I am 220 and I can sit on it with confidence… one thing I will say it’s super awesome for loading stuff in the back not only that but when you’re camping, you can set your cook stove on the back and your water…. If you’re Boondocking without a trailer….. I have would have no worries, standing on it to reach stuff on a roof rack, which will be a bonus…. Oddly enough, I find myself using it more than I thought I would….. not only that it’s fantastic to take your rifle out and lay it on the back and set up. Your camping gear works great as a table. I keep finding new ways to use it, so would I get it? I think I would. I couldn’t see myself not having it now that I have it….. yes, it is pricey, but I think it’s worth it….
I wish they offered the platform alone. I want to keep things OEM as much as possible, and the way it levels the bed to the back seats is great. I want to be able to install a pull out dog ramp in place of that sliding drawer. The Sasquatched vehicles are really high for dogs who aren't used to jumping into large vehicles.
Thanks for the video man. Can you still store the roof panels in the trunk using the factory bags and new tie down points on the sliding tail gate? I believe the clearance was a bit tight when I tried in my bronco, so I'm curious is the four inches of added height is prohibitive at all. Cheers!
Hey Jason. I can not confirm that they would still fit and secure in the back with the additional height required for the slide out tailgate along with the relocation of the tie down points.
If you have molle panels in the cargo area that use the tie down ports, can you still install the tailgate? Or would have to remove those molle panels?
Good question Jordan. In the video around the 1:20 mark, I lift the deck up and on the right hand side, you will see two bolt heads. These are the bolts that secure the tailgate to the original anchor points for the factory tie downs. The ones closet to the rear seats are an inch or so aft of the original location, but the ones closest to the rear look to be a few inches forward of their original location. Additionally, the hoops are pointed in different directions. I would double check with the manufacture of any accessory to make sure that are compatible with the slide out tailgate.
This is one of the things Ford originally featured for the Bronco, that was never available when I ordered my 2021. The fact that I can't buy it separately now is disappointing.
I think eventually it will become available on the Ford accessory website. I am surprised that we have not seen something from the aftermarket community, but SEMA is coming up. I hope to see something soon.
It looks like can get them in other trim levels, but with a lot of exclusions. Below is from the build and price app. Not available with: Sasquatch™ Package at Big Bend™, Black Diamond™, Outer Banks™ and Everglades™. Cargo Area Protector at Base, Big Bend™, Black Diamond™, Outer Banks™ and Wildtrak™ Cargo Area Storage - Fixed Lid, Raised Lid, Drawer or Trunk at Base, Big Bend™ and Outer Banks™ Tailgate Table at Base, Big Bend™, Black Diamond™, Outer Banks™ and Wildtrak™ Full Vehicle Steel Bash Plates at Wildtrak™
@@jordanepp9467 I do not know this for sure, but educated guess is that it has to do with the weight of the 2.7 Broncos with the Sasquatch package. There is no difference in the cargo area of all of the 4 door Broncos trim levels. I am sure that it will be available on the Ford Accessory site sometime in the future. And the Aftermarket could always come up with something similar.
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section.
The slide out is neat, but the fact it makes the rear section flat.. now that is a gamechanger!

I hope being your 500th sub helps brother🤙 keep up the awesome work.
It's a brilliant option, and a huge perk for tailgating, parties among other many uses. I ordered it and my 2023 WildTrak.

It makes a flat surface in the entire cargo area.
thank you for the video. Adding this option to my Bronco order.
Thank you for showing us this Tim
Nice to see an honest review. I am ordering mine with it as I want the rear area flat for my dog.
thank you for a good full review of that slide out tailgate. you did a great job and answered year old questions that I've had.
Glad it was helpful!
Tim - Thank you for introducing me to this product. I like it a lot!

Would you be able to add cargo molle panels on the walls using the same tie down spots?

it looks like it will also be a good way to secure things in the cubby area :)
Thank you for your video. With the addition of the SOT can you please share the height to the top of the interior? Thank you

Thanks Tim, good points. I still want one 😎

@@Overlanding4Fun It says on Ford's site that it prevents on vehicle door storage : (
Not only the everglades trim pkg. I just placed my '23 bronco order (3/27/23 when order banks reopened for 24hrs). I ordered it with my WildTrak pkg 😁
Good deal. When I released the video, Everglades was the only trim that it was available on. I am glad to see Ford is offering it on other trims now.

Have the same question
Are the tie downs at the same locations? Wondering if any add-ons that require those point to connect would also work with it.

I've seen you many times on other you tube videos
Will it be available for the two door?
Good question, I just checked the Ford website and I didn’t see anything for the 2D Bronco. I am not sure if they have anything in development.
Anyone know if the ford factory pull out draw will sit on top?
I believe the drawer mounts to the same points in the cargo area. The tie downs are in different locations on top of the slideout tailgate.

It's $1200 now
I think the price that I used was when it was just the add on option for the Everglades. It does not surprise me that is the full retail cost.
It's about $1300 to buy it after the fact.
Finally Ford fixed their mistake with the uneven cargo area…, but course WE have to pay for it.
