Having people do something in a way that makes them uncomfortable would defeat the purpose of therapy.

Interestingly enough, your own bones do the same thing. It's why lead poisoning is such a big problem when you get older and you seem fine when young, as the bones have absorbed lead and start to release it through osteoporosis. But silver isn't absorbed into the bones and the body can pass it eventually. I never made the connection that the same mechanism could be used for silver refining.
In cupelling it's not really a chemical thing though... you can cupel with Portland cement. That is, capillary action on the molten lead oxide is a better explanation for the cupel behavior. In the body, lead interferes with a wide variety of enzymes including those that regulate calcium balance; that's why lead is taken up into and released later from bones.

I feel like a lot of people watch his mine exploration videos, and even if he isn't preserving anything, and wants to create a tourist trap he isn't doing a great job of it. He is preserving quite a bit, and documenting a ton with his videos. Even if he throws away 90% of it and makes a tourist trap, that is still more than ever would have been saved otherwise and will still get people out there and thinking about American history.
He does research, puts his life at risk going into a historical mine, and gives us entertaining videos, while making American history interesting. Even if everything else is a lie, it's still a net positive for everyone.

I didn't understand the process of separating silver from lead. I repeated watching the video several times, and I still couldn't understand what you did. I also had difficulty understanding what you said. Can you please make your process more clear by using some illustrations or chemical formulas for the reaction that happened?
I didn't understand it either from the video. But based on the comments the cupel from bone ash absorbs the lead oxide through some capillary action.

What you can do is you melt the silver out with some acid and Lead doesn't melt with acid because it's a royal just like gold but the silver will dissolve in a nitric acid bath but the lead will not
Lead definitely dissolves in nitric acid, and so does silver-lead alloy. Several routes to separation exist, including electrolysis and further chemical additions.

Click on your account and look for a setting called "restricted mode", and make sure it's off. If it's on yt will randomly hide videos that the algorithm thinks are not safe for everyone.
