Beautiful work I’m going to do one in my camper the thing you should do when staining wood is use a sanding sealer after the stain then the finish coat it will turn out much smoother cause you can sand the sealer coat.
I’m looking to do this very project for a kitchen island, allowing room for the grands(or others) to have breakfast or just sit and chat. What is the name of the hardware you’ve chosen that was purchased at A?
Are you asking about using the sink tops to create an extension? i would think that you could find a way to attach them to the hinge supports possibly with some epoxy or anchors?
well, unfortunately you can't. We decided not to move the outlet, instead we just raise shelf when we need to use it. The only time we really need it is when we plug in something like a toaster and in that case we usually have the shelf extended so for us it hasn't been a problem.
You probably could if you are able to cut it to fit the shape of counter and also the hinge style would be much different. Also, it would not lay flat against the cabinet.
Looks great! Exactly what my wife asked me to make for our 5th wheel. This will be a nice Springtime project.
Thanks! It's super useful, we use it all the time.
That's brilliant. We're going to add one of these to our caravan. Great video! 😊
Awesome! Thank you!

We have granite sink tops we would like to slide into an extension. Any thought ?

How do you access the electrical plug on the outside of the island when the counter extension is folded down?
well, unfortunately you can't. We decided not to move the outlet, instead we just raise shelf when we need to use it. The only time we really need it is when we plug in something like a toaster and in that case we usually have the shelf extended so for us it hasn't been a problem.
Our island cabinet is curved. Any ideas how to make a drop-down that will work for that situatio?
Ours is curved as well which is why we have the drop down actually under the existing countertop.
Could you have made the top level with the existing counter?
You probably could if you are able to cut it to fit the shape of counter and also the hinge style would be much different. Also, it would not lay flat against the cabinet.
I cant find those brackets you have a link?
