A great product to use if you like to work with raw edge appliqué projects. You can use the precision fusing mat for both tracing and ironing the drawn appliqué shape to the fabric - it's iron-proof!
Thanks very much for this video, this will now be on my list of “things to pick up”
I have one and I love it.
I've been thinking about purchasing this mat! Good timing! Thanks.
Thanks for the demo I have one and this demo helped
Love your reviews of books and products!💕
Why didn't you demonstrate putting the applique pieces together? That's what I need to see!
This was a review of the mat, rather than an explanation of how to do appliqué. I do have other videos that focus on the raw edge appliqué technique that you can find by searching on my channel.
So how do you do layers
Not sure what you mean by this question. This product works to trace and fuse so you would just do this for as many pieces as you need for your project.
I saw another video where they put the Teflon mat underneath the fusing mat.
I have the fusing mat underneath as it will stick to my pressing surface and not move, allowing me to easily trace my design on the fusible web. If the Teflon mat is underneath, it would slip around.
Is only usable for a one-sided fusible web? How do you use it for a double sided fusible web?
You would use it the same way. The paper side will come off both sides of this type of fusible web, so you could remove one side and place it on the mat to trace and then remove the other side when you go to fuse it to your fabric.
What is the iron you are using please?
It's the Rowenta Travel-Ready Steam Iron. You can find the ink to it in the video description.
How much?
There is a link in the video description so you can see the price. You may also be able to purchase this at your local quilt shop.
