It is such a cute bag and wonderful that it is the original model. Agree with you on not replacing the vachetta. It's in great shape, clean, and has a nice even patina. This video is so informative! I’m watching it for the second time because I just got a vintage mini speedy and knew that your video would help me in determining which model it was. I’m happy to discover that I too have an original version.
I love watching you. I just purchased the mini speedy. I definitely love that you appreciate the vintage LV . I myself love vintage pieces and definitely notice the difference in quality of the overall piece. People that make rude comments on preloved being frowned upon obviously haven't purchased a vintage piece to be able to compare and appreciate the quality from items that are well aged and better than some newer pieces produced today. I have seen your videos on the mean comments and I feel refreshed that you identify what isn't peoples business. I have had my share of comments from people saying I'm dumb for wasting my money. Its just like people that collect cars or figurines right? People collect what they enjoy . now we can at least use what we enjoy to collect. My mother collected Italian porcelain which now I get to cherish because she loved them all so much. I even shared pieces from her collection with a few best friends. They feel her with them . I plan to pass on my LV collection to my little girl. Yes I have felt guilty for spending a lot of money but you made me feel better about that because the guilt was brought on by others statements. Thank you for being you.

I confess that I have you to thank/blame for my love of vintage LV. This is particularly true of the LV Noe. Your videos definitely inpired me to pick up a preloved Noe bag from 1995 and restore it to its former glory. It is now my favorite bag in my collection! Thank you!!!

Mine is exactly like yours and I feel so much better about my purchase. I got it for a steal at $344 though I think yours might be in slightly better shape. I used to have all 3 HL minis from early 2000’s. The monogram , black multi and white multi. Unfortunately the white multi had color bleeding from the inside to the outside and there was nothing LV could do about it other than give me a store credit due to the white multi being discontinued. Fortunately I still have the other two. They are 2 of my absolute favorite little bags. I’m hanging on to them for my future granddaughters : )) hopefully one day! I remember looking on the pre loved market a few years back for the monogram hl mini for a friend and how good the prices were then as well as the condition of the bags for sale and now fast forward a few years the increase in prices are insane makes me wish I had a crystal ball back then and would’ve bought a bunch lol anyhow thank you for all the great info and for sharing your little gem. I still use mine from time to time and get so many compliments. May you wear yours in good health and keep the great videos coming. Always a pleasure to watch. Ps .. A LV sa once told me to use a small amount ‘foam’ soap with a damp washcloth to gently clean vachetta then go over it again with just a damp cloth to remove any soap residue and let air dry. I’ve done it on a couple of pre loves bags mostly on the handles and it’s worked like a charm. She said the main thing was to use the foam soap.I used the Dial Just thought I’d share that with you. I was surprised, too. And since it was created in 1978, the same year they opened their first store in Japan, and since so many of the special edition mini Speedy bags were created for Japan anniversaries, it makes me wonder if the creation of the first bag has anything to do with Japan. I didn't find anything about that, though.

I 100% agree about keeping it original! It’s like a little piece of history. I am replacing the vachetta on the 2nd one I have because the handle is torn off. I think of it as restoring a vintage piece which is otherwise unusable. My other Speedy HL looks just like yours with the original vachetta pull and all. I love it!!!!! I didn’t realize the sides were more triangular on this version, good eye! I also didn’t know it was from 1978, wow! I know pre date code is pre 80s but it’s cool to get a timeline. It explains why mine smelled lol. This bag is just toooo cute I can handle it. I want a multicolored one! Sorry for the essay, I can talk about LV ALL DAY! 🙈

Loved this video. Warning to all about using it as a crossbody with a chain or strap!!!!! Don’t do it. You’ll ruin your bag. Trust me I used my speedy with a cross body strap and the upper chaps leather where the handles meet will tear eventually. If you want a speedy mini crossbody then buy it already with the official straps on the bag. Pre loved older styles don’t come with straps for a reason. They are only supposed to be hand held. ❤

Pap Pyone yes it normally doesnt, but they are able to make it on request. But i dont think it is something they do often and for every customer.

Oh no, do not replace the vachetta! I will never understand people who love Louis Vuitton but don’t want patina on vachetta. If it wasn’t supposed to turn honey colored, the company wouldn’t use it! I need to get that bike. It’s the first time I’ve seen what’s actually in it. Thank you! I do remember though that the mini Speedy was also available in monogram and was in boutiques around the early 2000’s. Maybe I am just remembering the Murakami version.
Definitely get the book! It's invaluable and sooo interesting. It breaks down all the pieces it takes to make some bags, shows details of bags, shows some special editions (like the cherries) and the different layers of silk screening. It's a must have for any LV collector.

hello i am located in Taiwan, and i found one vintage one with 1 monogram in the middle (so i guess its original version) but it has metal zipper WITHOUT leather holder. it also has the same cloth label. i will attach photo if you're interested, but its surprising and fun to learn about all these differences!

I always loved the white clover version of this I think from the 90s. Wanted one for my daughter when she was little but, no way could I afford it then. Now she is 24 and prefers Gucci lol I wonder how many on the pre loved sites are full of gum and crayon stains. I remember my daughters picking dandelions and leaving them in a purse. LOL
