    Yep, I gotta comment...I feel like this whole deck/suite is like a big tarot/magic party with Benebell. I loved watching the cards get born on instagram, I was 100% on board from the release of the Majors that we could color ourselves (I've only finished a couple cards SO FAR) I read every word of the Book of Maps (twice if you count the PDF reader overview that I did while waiting for the print version) I used tracing paper over the images in the BoM and colored the one bit with red...it made it simpler than trying to figure out colors, but I did every card. I did the fool spread before I used the deck...I got the coloring book and did the same thing with tracing paper, so I could use markers...and yes, me too... When it comes to ritual, this is the deck. It's like a step 1, 2, 3, easy to use Grimoire on cards. I've done a romance ritual, and a protection ritual...and found it easy to work with and comfortable to have laid out for a period of time. I agree, it's super easy to read with right out of the box, it feels like a friend...that teaches you something.

    Another great video, Lisa! I think the idea of doing four decks a year in this in depth way is wonderful!! I ordered the Vitruvian, and I’m now even more eager to get it… I will be curious, as someone with a Buddhist approach to ritual and magic, to see how I end up working with it…🙏and hugs!

    Thank you for sharing your experiences with SKT, beautiful Lisa!🙏💖
    I loved that it inspired you to further in your magical practice!♥️ I’ve recently pre-ordered the second edition, and your video has provided me with the wonderful insight on it and reassurance for which I’m so grateful!💕✨ I’ve printed and started to read the medium white book and am loving it, which I find a great intro without overwhelming novice me!☺️

    Thank you for this review! I too was so intimidated by this deck but felt it was so sacred that I couldn’t not have it. It feels like a deck that would be a direct line to communing with the deepest, most mysterious parts of Source. I just bought the Vitruvian and am so excited for it to arrive. 💗

    I look forward to hearing about your experience with the Dreams of Gaia Tarot! I hesitate with getting it because it's a new system, but the imagery is beautiful.

      It's gorgeous and, at the very least, works well for single card pulls where you sit and read the guidebook and contemplate or journal (like an oracle). Am hoping I can do more with it at the end of the three months.

    I just throughly enjoy your videos. Your enthusiasm is contagious.
    I preordered the V-SK not really understanding why I was so compelled...now I do. I’m a newbie to the tarot & love deeper study. So I’m really excited about bonding with it and will take the time as you have.
    I work with a morning deck, an evening deck (changing monthly) and a RWS for study... and only use the Naked Heart for ritual/monthly& week ahead draws.
    Wow... you’ve put everything that seemed intimidating about working with the V-SK so doable.
    Thanks!

      I'm so so glad you found this video helpful!!! I was really nervous about the deck at first, but everything that Benebell has said about it is true - you can absolutely work with it at whatever level you choose. How deep you go is up to you! :)

    I've only been handling the Vitruvian deck for the past week (!), but your review is so dead-on. The deck is definitely a "tool," like a cauldron or even a... well, a spirit board. It's the first time I've used a deck that I would not let someone else touch, ha. Coming from the Jungian school of "a tarot deck can only reflect what you're thinking," I've found the Spirit Keeper to be genuinely unsettling. But also very moving!

    I really need to trap myself in a room with this deck for a period of time......it's so full of info and imagery that I'm new to. 🤗☺️

    Great video as usual! Thanks for the rundown on Medium White Book vs Book of Maps. Already printed the MWB, but not sure about BoM. Have to check it out when I get the PDF, but I will read it regardless. I have been enjoying Foundations of the Esoteric Tradition, though, vol. 2 for Tarot of the Holy Light. It took me a while to get it, but so glad I did! Also reading Tarot of the Magicians by Oswald Wirth. That's very enlightening, too.

    • @Lisa_Papez
      @Lisa_Papez  5 років тому

      I think the BoM is worth having, regardless - even if you only reference it now and then. I think that, based on the other books you mention, you won't find it too overwhelming at all.

    I have this deck and totally agree with your assessment - we've been using it in very similar ways! I've barely cracked The Book of Maps but I love having it because I am sure I will want to get into a study with it at some point.

      Yesss... the Book of Maps has so much to offer, but it does take you deep into the esoterics, for sure!

    I work on my own Tarot decks and a collector as well. I was trying to order this particular deck today but the link stated the Page was Not Found. I'm assuming this to mean it is out of stalk. I was wondering if you knew if you could share a link of where I could purchase the Vetruvian deck. The art style is breath taking. I have been looking for the perfect black and white deck which is similar to my own technique. Thank you for sharing this review! I have been wanting to delve into something more challenging.

    Thank you for making this video! You summed up The Spirit Keepers Tarot beautifully. ❤️
    I love the Medium White Book. It’s a great introduction toThe Spirit Keepers deck and The Book of Maps.
    Getting to know the Court Cards and the three keycards with the Medium White Book was all I really needed to start working with this deck.
    Omg! I’m also working with the Dreams Of Gaia, so I’m so excited to hear you are too! Did you see the new Pocket Edition that’s coming out.
    The Guidebook to this deck is the bomb!!! It’s freakin awesome and so healing. I also downloaded the app onto my phone, as the guidebook is on it.

      I DID see the pocket edition!!! Considering scooping it up but will hold off until after I've worked with it for this quarter to decide for sure!

    I missed the first edition for 1 day!!!So now I'm waiting patiently (NOT!) for the 2nd edition to ship...I don't know how I feel about the sepia tone but I have a feeling it is going to be a very interesting deck...I love symbolism anyway so this should be down by alley! Thank you for sharing your experience!I always like to know how other people feel about decks that are on my radar :) xoxo

      I really adore the sepia tone of the new edition and think the changes she made to the card are really wonderful. I considered purchasing the 2nd edition and trading the first but I've now bonded way too much to my first edition to consider parting with it!!!

    I appreciate your take on the tarot and how you work with the cards so much. Thank you. On a side note, you mentioned in one of your videos that you are getting more into astrology this year and I was wondering how you work with the tarot in that context (you mentioned a bit already on your AMAZING spiritual decks episode) I was wondering in particular how you work with the Oracle of the radiant sun as I've been having issues to incorporate it into my practice. Maybe a video suggestion here?

    • @Lisa_Papez
      @Lisa_Papez  5 років тому +1

      I really enjoy working with the Oracle of the Radiant Sun as a predictive tool, like a forecasting oracle if you will. I've also used it to lay out birth charts for myself or family members (but of course it will be missing some planetary bodies used in modern astrology since the Oracle of the Radiant Sun was based on classical astrology). I haven't done a deep dive with Astrology yet, but I am appreciating dipping my toe in this year! :)

    I literally had just looked at this deck on Benebell's site and here was your review! I loved your review and I am convinced...it doesn't take much though :) On the site, it says the deck should arrive right before Autumn which is the perfect time to hunker down and do some soul searching! Where did you have the PDF's printed into a book?

    Hello Lisa, thank you for the video, could you tell me what you use for colouring ? I have been colouring my book of maps for two months but the result is a far cry from your gorgeous result. Be well !!

      Hi Thomas! 🙂 I use Faber Castell Polychromos pencils (lovvvvve them). They're a bit on the pricy side because they're artist quality but I loooove them. My favourite more entry-level (way better than crayola) pencil is the Prismacolor Scholar line - you can often find a pack of 60 colors up here for around $35-$40canadian so they're probably $25-ish US or less. 😃
