    The arc looks like a really solid card but the drivers still need more work. I salute all the guys beta testing it, I feel like it'll evolve like the RX 5700 XT and it'll only get better. Though if I had to pick...In France, in term of price quality/perf the RX 6650 XT is a nobrainer when the two others are 100€ higher in price.

      Can you give an example on how Arc drivers still need work? As far as playing games go they are solid. Cyberpunk High 1440 I am getting 96fps average, Last of Us high settings getting 70-80 fps also at 1440. Here in the USA the 16gb LE model is a great value for only $350.

      @@danielchettiar5670 What older game though? I'm just curious. As I genuinely have not experienced such issues, though my gaming library does mainly consist of DX11 and newer titles I still have some older ones that work great. Like The Darkness II, which I have even played at 5120x1440 32:9 ultrawide on my A770. Also tried with FFXI and that's DX8 (not ultrawide though), but it ran just as good if not better than the GTX 970 I upgraded from. It should be noted Intel releases driver updates 2-3 times a month they are improving performance all the time. Arc is in a very good position currently.

    • @gamesushi
      @gamesushi Рік тому +2

      @@AncientGameplays But Arc has native DX11 support. You would have to play something older like DX10-DX8 for Arc to rely on software layer to convert calls. Performance has been addressed for many DX11 titles and as I already mentioned, Darkness II DX9 works great, Final Fantasy XI which DX8 works great, so most mainstream titles should work fine. While I understand there might still be some outliers out there, like a couple of the Assassin Creed titles, it would be VERY interesting if you could do a video about older games, as I think present day Arc would perform much better than it has previously. You have a lot of great content and I subbed. Thank you for this video.

    To me it seems like the A770 was originally supposed to compete with the RX 6700XT/ RTX3070 but they realized that the performance wasn't there with the drivers. Tom Peterson from Intel said the ARC architecture was made for 1440p or higher. I think they decided to set it against the 3060 directly to try to make it look good.

If the drivers could become more consistent, the ARC770 16gb is a pretty alluring card for the prices it can be picked. As I'm mostly playing Star Citizen, which is always evolving, may be ARC is not the safest bet for the engine being tested, so it might not be for me.

    With the money the 16GB LE version (or worse, the ASUS BiFrost one) costs, I can buy a RX 6750 XT, 3060 Ti, or put some more to it and get the RX 6800. And neither of these much better options lock you into 2019+ systems that need to have ReBAR/SAM either.
