    Excellent video, however any LEDs I have always look like they're flickering if I video it. Do you use a particular setting on your camera, or are these battons less prone to looking like they flicker on camera?

      Interesting, because as I shot this video, one clip with good narration was flickering and pulsating and this has happened before so it’s something to do with a focal setting issue on the camera or, possibly the other lighting in that area not being high enough so the camera constantly struggles to anchor onto objects and then pulsates ?

      @@modeloco if you work out what it is, it might make an interesting video. Incidentally it even happens to me if I’m filming a real loco which is fitted with LED headlights. It’s not as bad at 25 fps and worse at 60fps.

    Great video Andy...those led lights are great .I have swapped a fluorescent tube for a plug n play led one works great..On your Lion loco are you using the 2P sound file ?

      Hi Richard, I love ‘em for the price but, not to look directly at. Ouch! So back facing of out of eyes reach they’re super and super coverage.
      2P or not 2P is the question. I’ve honestly forgotten which I downloaded now but, 85% yes lol 😂 it was a small steam one and I’ve an unpublished review somewhere as the chimney was wonky and it looked ridiculously bent up close, front on . I’ve sorted it now by re-gluing square

      @@richardswiderski4985 Love the Brand and it’s products. Yes, we all have issues sometimes but, the standard these models are at are superb. Got my Lion in the sale and watching it today and how it runs was magic 👍

    Hi Andy. I have come across these LED lights before (on your channel?) but have not bought them (yet). "Mixing colours is really taboo"; really? Mixing colours is what makes freight interesting (yes, the same colour does have a place, but not necessarily always).

      @modeloco  Місяць тому +1

      Hi Paul, Thanks for the thoughts and have no regrets lighting up Lofthouse or Shiredale using these.
      The “Taboo” bit is due to the Bauxite wagons needing a Bauxite brake van behind and these ran before vacuum brake fitted ones in grey with a grey brake.. A wonderful mixed freight is possible if you do this, using the right configurations. If I’m correct grey then being braked by the vacuum fitted locomotive so, at the front end and other brown ones by the bauxite or brown brake van, toward the rear. I’m aware of all this a little and it is quite intriguing to find out about but, hey after fitting those LEDS I just wanted to try out my new Shark which is another era altogether. I just love the look and so added the note to avoid being bitte(r)n 😂 for not having used it correctly 🦈. Do wanna find out about it all though and where fish vans in blue fit into all this seriously fun stuff.

      @@modeloco Hi Andy. I think you are quite right about bauxite vs. great and the different forms of braking. For some weird reason, I thought you were referring to the colours of privately owned wagons!

      @PaulSmith-pl7fo I see. I’ve edited my reply. I really do love to philosophize when the mood takes me and if you read my earlier response you probably thought OMG! It’s far better channeled into my next layout step but, easier to sit and procrastinate. Lesson learnt 😂
