Aww sweet Milo. He doesn't know how to bun. I've been volunteering for a rabbit rescue for years and unfortunately, what you are going through is very common. Rabbits that are kept in small cages have a really hard time adjusting. Thank you for rescuing. I can't wait to see his personality bloom!
I'm sure this has been said already but omg the fact that you got him a stuffed bunny is the cutest thing in the world. Such a good bunny daddy already, Austin!
Thank you for explaining the toy rabbit. When you said Mr. Milo was having a slow day I thought the stuffed animal was him and got so confused why he was a different color.
Aww, maybe he's missing munching down on fresh grass too, if he was in the garden a lot before? He may also be processing thoughts, like where are his old family all of a sudden. Bless you both, he's in the best hands and I'm sure he'll come out of his shell once he's more settled. Much love to you, Milo and all the piggies! 🥰
I love The Well Kept Rabbit 🐇. I bought the hayritto for my bun some time ago and he loves it. He tosses it around and it keeps him busy at times trying to get the hay. Nice bunny setup!
First of all I must say how much I love your dedication in making Milos life better. Super sweet! Just gonna throw some tips from a bunny mama since I can’t contain myself🙈 No1 tip for hanging out with buns at home is put in a sofa in the bunny room, bunnies like different heights and you can chill for hours with him✨ Place the sofa in the middle of the room as bunnies find open floorspace scary👻 Also, bunnies love tunnels and napping underneath stuff. I use ikea KLIPSK a lot for that! Regular sideboards/cabinets with high legs make perfect spots underneath, as well as a nice coffee table. Hope it helps😃
Mine don’t play with toys much at all. Some are just chill. He will start doing binkies and running hopping around eventually. They are just different little creatures. Give him space to hop and run and jump and his body will start to regulate.
Hope all the little fur-babies are doing well! I hope you guys are safe, warm, & as dry as can be! Take care everyone ❤ Thanks for keeping us updated♥︎
Milo is adorable! Hope he's doing better and getting stronger each day. I love how dedicated you are to making Milo's life better and taking such great care of him even though you're going through one of the bunny owners' worst nightmares right off the bat. Also, so glad you will (in the future) be getting Milo a best friend. You made me tear up when you were talking about how they never know what a best friend is. My 8-month-old Holland lop mix had to be separated from his sister a few months ago and he's been devastated ever since. Luckily, he will be getting a friend soon! (Just had to wait for him to be old enough to be altered). I love how hard you're working to push through these bad times and spoil him rotten. Plus, making sure he knows he's loved. If you want some enrichment ideas I have two for you. 1.) Get a little cat tunnel. This is my rabbit's absolute favorite thing. 2.) Sprinkle some forage on a cat scratcher. This is kind of similar to getting a 'snuffle mat' but it's a little easier for them to get to. Hope he gets better soon. I can't wait for you to experience a happy healthy bunny! - Samantha & Conway Twitchy (rabbit)
Milo is so sweet! It will take time and watching him, reminds me of my Harriet who I got from a pet store and rescued from a tank. She's a skinny and she barely had hay and any chew toys. She had been alone for two months too. When I got her home, and I had her in a bigger home, she zoomed. Eating veggies, took encouragement and hay treats? I could put one in front, and she didn't know what to do. Sad. I worked on social skills too to try and get ready for a friend. I got two stuffed guinea pigs, one furry and one skinny. She did not like the furry and did better with the skinny. I played a mirror game and maybe try that with Milo where you have Milo follow his image in the mirror. It will help with getting ready for a friend. So exited for you on your journey with Milo!!
You are so nice to keep him and nurse him back to health. I think he stayed in a hutch too long and didn't get to hop around enough. Good luck with him and looking forward to updates. Can't wait for him to have a friend.
I had two lion head bunnies. They were awesome and inseparable. When I had the male neutered I couldn't keep them in the same cage because the Doctor was concerned that the female would work his stitches loose. I had to keep the cages close enough for them to touch noses. It really was sad. I had to do their outside time separate. It was only for 2 weeks but they missed their cuddles. Milo is going to be just fine. Hes had a lot of big changes. Just keep on doing what your doing. You should rethink all the cardboard. It can block up his bowls.
My bunny that recently passed went through GI stasis and the literal only way I got her to eat was to soak her hay in some sort of juice like carrot juice or a fruit juice. Seems like your little guy is doing better already but hopefully this helps for the future or anyone else dealing with stasis. Obviously all the sugar isn’t good long term but it worked to get my bunny interested in eating again.
You are doing so well by him! You are doing everything you should be! Your an amazing pet owner and have such a kind heart! I cannot wait to see how milo grows with you ❤
I absolutely love the care you are giving him. I remember when i got my first bun and seeing her interact with all new things when i got her. She can from some people that kept her in a tiny cage with her sister that was never cleaned out. She was albino but she wasstained yellow, matted, and had urine scald everywhere even the backs of her ears. She ended up getting freeroam of my whole room. Eventually once old enough she got spayed and lived with my in laws when i went to bootcamp. She ended up bonding with their male lionhead and i knew that i couldn't separate her then. She ended up passing about a year ago in my arms due to unknown reasons. She was my big Snowball as she was a new zeland rex mix. I just recently got a couple more buns one looks like a lionhead mix but neither parent is so who knows and the other is a lop rex mix. I let them freeroam my guest room and they love hiding and running around under the bed in there. I'm so glad Milo had you.
Awww he, s adorable, hes getting spoilt rotten 😊 just like ur piggies ☺️ i ❤ watching ur content i find it really relaxing as well as picking up lots of ideas off u 🕊️
This makes me really happy. The amount of time and effort you put into properly caring for your Guinea Pigs is just amazing. You provide them with a very large space, proper enrichment, and so much more. I look forward to watching your videos regularly. Thank you❤
My rabbit used to run around the whole house. He was so tiny when i got him. He was huge when he grew up. Sadly he passed away many years ago now. He was so good, still miss him. ❤❤❤
He is 5 he is older he won’t be as active as a young bunny the fact he flopped next to you is amazing and shows pure happiness knowing that moment and trust in you. Don’t let that upset you yes he is still sick so he might still be like that personality wise after. My bun is almost 4 and he doesn’t binky much maybe 1 x a weeek sometimes not for a couple weeks that is normal he is older and more lazy. He has his spots to go anywhere as he free roams. Don’t beat yourself up your doing so so much and he is happy. He is also probably a bit overwhelmed some rabbits if left un small spaces their whole life to a massive space can be to much and they are prey animals so it can be a lot. You started smaller then worked up to this big area and that is perfect. You are doing wonderful and he is happy just keep up with his medicine he will bounce back fast and his personality the more he feels safe will come out but don’t think because he is not doing zoomies or binkys he is not happy that is not true he is older as I said so chilling is what they do. If he doesn’t poop for 12 hours that is an emergency other then that your good. You spending all this time around him keeps him happy and as if he has a friend. I bought my rabbit a stuffed rabbit one that is realistic and they will cuddle and feel as they have a friend .
So heart warminghow dedicated you are in making sure he feels loved!! I’m a freeroam bun parent and I can tell you for sure that you’re doing everything right!
You prob need the bright lights for filming but make sure he gets plenty of dim light time, rabbits are most active at dawn and dusk they don't naturally like bright light
Oh wow, I'm so early! I recently got my 2 boys some of your pig mats, and bunk beds, and the piggies love them! I've watched you for a long time, and I'm so happy to finally have my own piggies to spoil. Thanks for the great videos❤
Milo is so cute. I miss my bunny I had. I had to get rid of him. He was solid black. He got a better life with a friend. But I hope he works out for you. And glad u rescued him.
So proud of you! You got so many good things for him!! And a great idea for forage in hay, he will for sure eat it and just be patient. He is in a new space plus GI stasis so its normal he is not that hungry. But you are doing such a good job!
One of the things we did with our new cat was ask for a piece of clothing from the previous owner that hadn't been washed. That way our cat had a familiar scent and the transition was not as abrupt. I don't know if it is the same for rabbits, but it may help a bit with his transition.
i just wanna say i just made a huge order on your shop and i finally received it! and i just wanna say that i am so happy that i did! my pigs are going crazy for the toys and they love their new hides! my boys live in a 2 by 6 so they are of course so spoiled!! ty again!
Aw im so glad you are free roaming him! I did think his pen was a little on the small side (for my preference) but thats awesome that youre able to free roam him ❤
I love that you adopted a bun! I had adopted a bunny (frosty) living in a pet store cage from a woman years ago, he had a blanket over him and I had no idea he was there, I adopted 4 Guinea pigs that day and him! His FAV toys were the cat plastic jingle balls he would toss around. I watch your videos every day at work, and even inspired me to adopt more piggies making my herd up to 6! I adopted them from The Guinea Pig Sanctuary in Salisbury, Massachusetts. If you could give them a shout out they have 200 piggies in house that need homes ❤️ adoption fee is $30 for one $50 for a pair, after signing a contract and payment you can adopt for free after that, they just want good homes for piggies. They currently are trying to pay off their vet bill for this year & for the recent surgeries they’ve been doing on emergent cases! They’re wonderful people but not many pig people know they exist. Check out their Facebook page, they post everyday about piggies in their care! I know they would absolutely appreciate a shout from you!
I ordered some toys Chew things from the pig room for my bunny and I have to say They were a better quality and a better price than the ones I had ordered from etsy, A lot of the things on your pig room store can be for bunnies as well, thank you
I adopted a rabbit who was skin and bones, who also wouldn’t eat hay. I sat with her for 30 minutes just poking the best bits of hay at her and she got so irritated that she would remove the hay with her mouth again and again. Slowly but surely she started to realize that this was some nice hay and all of a sudden she started chewing. ❤🎉
Ive had dogs go seversl days to even close to a week without pooping after going to a new home. Plus they are a little scared, maybe depressed for a while. I bet the rabbit will be fine after he adjusts to his new environment.
What a lovely setup! I think he has loved having that space for himself 🥹 He is pretty old though, have you considered a soft pillow or hop n' flop for him? It'll be a hit, I'm sure! You can buy them or make one yourself 😊
Hi, I just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of your channel!❤ I also had a question for you because I'm confused on what to do. So I had four guinea pigs, all boys but there are two in each cage, sadly, last night one of my older boys had a seizure that lasted over 30 minutes and it was too much for his body, so he passed shortly after😢 So my question is, for the guinea pig that is alone now (he has never been alone in his life) should I let him live out his life on his own, or should I get him a buddy and try and bond them? For more context, his is a little over 4 years. Thanks, again I love your channel and your piggies😊
I thought the toy bunny was real until you said it wasn’t lol And I have two very pretty male Guinea pigs love your Vids wish you and your pets the best
Please keep in mind if Milo is mostly sleeping or not really know what to do. Is mostly likely caused because he didn’t have that many toys. And also he lived in a very not small but not spacey hutch. So do not get worried it’s probably cause he never got that much stuff while he was with his other owners just make sure to always try to get him stuff. So he can be occupied not mostly just being bored have a very good day. Also Milo is adorable 😊
Beautiful setup. I unfortunately had a very bad experience with the owner of Well Kept Rabbit. She was quite cold to me after one of my bunnies passed away. I highly highly recommend Moonlight Bunny Boutique!!!!
When you're ready to get him a buddy (assuming he's still doing ok, I'm worried about the poor little guy) you should look into lop eared. They are so laid back generally and with how laid back Milo seems, I feel like you could find a good match easier with that breed. If you go Angora though, I'll totally take the fur you brush out of her, of your hands lol.
Austin I just got some things from your brand I got a piggy bunk bed and bamboo chews but one of my guinea pig willow loves the bunk bed soooooo much.its in the back of my cage and I’m like omg where is she then I see her sleeping there def buying another one 😊😊❤❤❤
I know you can get a pallet of edible grass from a plant nursery for cats, so perhaps you could get a pallet of grass for him to lay on and such since he used to go outside and lay on the grass in the sun and that's when he was really happy from what the lady said.
don't be so hard on yourself ur doing great!! its honestly probably because milo is in a new environment and not yet fully comfortable and also because of his GI stasis. i remember when I first got my bunny she wasn't liking all the toys but bunnies r so weird and really picky so it might just be that he's a little lazy and doesn't want to play and wants to just relax. ALSO I'm sure you know but be careful with his neutering because he is an older bunny so going under anesthesia has an increased risk. of course it's all up to you but he can also have a very happy and fulfilling life as a single bun
I think this happens with lots of animals that go from smaller spaces to larger ones..feral kittens i know as i rescue them..they adapt eventually..maybe hes a little overwhelmed by it x
So I looked at Well Kept Rabbit for the forages for my guinea pigs and I saw a lot of them had catnip in it. I couldn’t find if that was safe for pigs. Have you had any issues?
My rabbit went through this for almost a year. I took him to the vet multiple times. I sent a link to the new food you should change to on the last video. I cut all food except hay for one week to reset the tummy. I started on the sherwood. No more than 1 cup veggies after the reset. The pellets cause this. You must not give him the old pellets and reset the gut. No veggies until it is reset. Sherwood is great food. Its his tummy hurts and makes him depressed. I promise this will fix him in 2 weeks. He will be very hungry to only eat hay. Then add slowly little bit of sherwood pellets. No more than 1/4 c a day for his size. My bunnyblives the taste... i promise he will love the sherwood Timothy pellets too
Hi there! I love your channel. I was wondering where you get your piggies cage parts? I looked all over Chewy's website and I can't find them there. I am working on making my babies a larger enclosure. Thanks a BUNCH!
Ik this is a rabbit video but I have a Guinea pig question: So a little over a year ago, I got my first Guinea pig, Teddy for my birthday. It was just him which I planned on getting him a friend very soon after I upgrade his cage. A month ago I upgraded his cage and also decided now that he had a bigger cage, there is now room for a second Guinea pig. We knew someone who they’re Guinea pigs accidentally had babies so we found out abt the last Guinea Pig available, and decided to take her. The original plan was to breed the female and Teddy, but then after reading all the risks for a female especially being that she was already 5 months old and never been pregnant before, I decided to not breed them but still take her and neuter Teddy. So then we got Maple. We started looking for vets that would do it but was very hard to find. When we finally found one they said it would be over $100 jst for the check up before the surgery and would be very risky. That was not what the stuff I read said because it said it would be around $60 and risk free. So I decided not to neuter Teddy and have them separated and only have them together outside of the cage and then separate them we Teddy is showing signs of mounting. So my question is what should I do? Like have you had any problems with you Guinea Pigs after neutering? Was it rlly that expensive? Should I continue to have them separated and get them each a friend?
Hey, vets have you tell you about the risks of surgery but an experienced small animal vet will have very few issues - just like when you go to the doctor for a surgery, they will need to walk you through all the risks, even if the likelihood is very low. Rabbits are much riskier to desex than piggies and we had all 4 of ours desexed without issue. Desexing also greatly decreased risks of cancer, so it's something you should consider. I would try and get them neutered. It can be quite expensive so if you need to keep them seperated while you save up, that is probably the best option - I would not get more piggies because you'll just need to spend more money desexing them. It's fantastic to hear that you reconsidered breeding too, it's clear that you really care for them! They're lucky to have you.
He is so beautiful and fluffy and soft. I love him. Brush him and pet him every day. He has so much stuff. He's a lucky bunny. I have a question ❓ can you put guinea pigs and bunnies together like in the large area you have made? Or just one and one? Also if Milo is using his litter box for his restroom why do you put his eating hay in the litter box? Merry Christmas to you and all your critters 💖😊
Milo will just need some time to decompress and get used to his new, super-pampered life. I'm so glad his former owner understood that he deserved better than what he was getting, even though the parents were doing quite a bit more than many other people in that type of situation do. She knows that what he's getting now is even better for him and that's what matters the most to her - Milo's needs and happiness. Just give him time to get used to everything and to get off the antibiotics. Those things always make *me* feel like 💩 so I can imagine he must be feeling pretty awful sometimes. Also, he's not used to so much space to exercise in and was less active before, so he's going to have to build up his stamina and get some energy now that he's beginning to eat and evacuate in a more healthy amount.
I had a bunny named loopy and he was a flopped ear one. And Milo reminds me so much of him! ❤ I’m thinking of getting a new bunny but I already have 3 guinea pigs, how do you get to take care of them all and make time to spend time and that stuff? (I am still in school so I don’t got much time as I hope)
Just found your channel and I absolutely love seeing your passion, cute cage set-ups, and how well you care for your pets! Makes me cringe, thinking about how miserable the hamsters I had as a tween must have been - but so heartwarming to see Milo and the pigs flourishing ♥
Hello I’m kind of late but my bunny had a gut blockage and was refusing water and I had to feed him water so yeah I did and got very wet and he’s good now but I have to monitor him
And I just want to add again, that digging has been all the rage with all my bunbuns. A baby’s bathtub half full with sand = a very excited little fluff ball :)
not me thinking that his new friend was an actual bunny! i love how kind and thoughtful you are to your little friends xoxo
I also thought it was another bunny lol
i was ike omg you didnt annouce this?? then realized it's not blinking lol
bro omg same, until he said something i had no idea
I got all the way to 4 min before I realised it wasnt real haha
me toooo! i had to go look and see if i missed an adoption video xD

Milo is such a cute bunny. Just remember he lived in an outdoor cage with not a lot of room so he is probably used to sleeping a lot
Totally agree! I realize now that he needs lots of time to adjust to his new home
@@ThePigRoom Have you considered adding a UVB lamp for short periods to simulate sunlight more directly?
@@CatCaffeineYes, he was very used to being in sunlight and enjoyed it. He doesn't need it to keep warm but he would probably still like it.
I'm sure this has been said already but omg the fact that you got him a stuffed bunny is the cutest thing in the world. Such a good bunny daddy already, Austin!

Ooohhh you rescue bunnies too!! How wonderful. Thank you!!
I do now! So happy that I can expand my horizons into this new, amazing species ❤

I love how he's so spoilt already 😭highly recommend foam mats to prevent sore hocks underneath the blankets!
You are so nice to keep him and nurse him back to health. I think he stayed in a hutch too long and didn't get to hop around enough. Good luck with him and looking forward to updates. Can't wait for him to have a friend.

i just wanna say i just made a huge order on your shop and i finally received it! and i just wanna say that i am so happy that i did! my pigs are going crazy for the toys and they love their new hides! my boys live in a 2 by 6 so they are of course so spoiled!! ty again!
Aw im so glad you are free roaming him! I did think his pen was a little on the small side (for my preference) but thats awesome that youre able to free roam him ❤
he is beautiful, how can anyone not love him.
I’m glad you got a bunny
So adorable ❤ thank you for making these relaxing videos. Its so fun and relaxing to come to your videos after a really busy or stressful day❤
Ok side note. Babez your hair is amazinggggg right now! Love it!
Thank you 😊
I ordered some toys Chew things from the pig room for my bunny and I have to say They were a better quality and a better price than the ones I had ordered from etsy, A lot of the things on your pig room store can be for bunnies as well, thank you
So happy to hear that!! ❤
Since that day there has been no stopping her 😂
Oh, I hope he has a grassy area for summer?? He loves to go out on the grass as they all do. It was his favourite place! You didn’t say? X
For some bunnies, it can take some time for a bunny to warm up to new things, especially if they are in a new home situation.
Ive had dogs go seversl days to even close to a week without pooping after going to a new home. Plus they are a little scared, maybe depressed for a while. I bet the rabbit will be fine after he adjusts to his new environment.
He’s pooping so well now and it’s 1 week exactly since I’ve got him!
Rabbits aren't like dogs, rabbits NEED to poop everyday.
@@Zoeclarke01 you are correct. Most mammals need to poop every day lol
@@tom-ss2mnobviously, but if a rabbit goes 3 hours without pooping its a concern.
What a lovely setup! I think he has loved having that space for himself 🥹 He is pretty old though, have you considered a soft pillow or hop n' flop for him? It'll be a hit, I'm sure! You can buy them or make one yourself 😊
Hi, I just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of your channel!❤
I also had a question for you because I'm confused on what to do.
I assume Milo will be much happier and less desperate when you get him another friend for him to be interested in and play with.
I thought the toy bunny was real until you said it wasn’t lol
And I have two very pretty male Guinea pigs love your
Vids wish you and your pets the best
Great video Austin!!! Thanks for sharing
Highly highly recommend dandelion roots, my buns love them as much as banana 😂
Please keep in mind if Milo is mostly sleeping or not really know what to do. Is mostly likely caused because he didn’t have that many toys. And also he lived in a very not small but not spacey hutch. So do not get worried it’s probably cause he never got that much stuff while he was with his other owners just make sure to always try to get him stuff. So he can be occupied not mostly just being bored have a very good day. Also Milo is adorable 😊
He so adorable hope he gets better overtime he jaunt amazing ❤❤❤
Beautiful setup. I unfortunately had a very bad experience with the owner of Well Kept Rabbit. She was quite cold to me after one of my bunnies passed away. I highly highly recommend Moonlight Bunny Boutique!!!!
When you're ready to get him a buddy (assuming he's still doing ok, I'm worried about the poor little guy) you should look into lop eared. They are so laid back generally and with how laid back Milo seems, I feel like you could find a good match easier with that breed. If you go Angora though, I'll totally take the fur you brush out of her, of your hands lol.
Lop ears have a lot of health issues
i love the well cept rabbit!
Austin I just got some things from your brand I got a piggy bunk bed and bamboo chews but one of my guinea pig willow loves the bunk bed soooooo much.its in the back of my cage and I’m like omg where is she then I see her sleeping there def buying another one 😊😊❤❤❤
YAAYYY NEW RABBIT UPDATE !!
I know you can get a pallet of edible grass from a plant nursery for cats, so perhaps you could get a pallet of grass for him to lay on and such since he used to go outside and lay on the grass in the sun and that's when he was really happy from what the lady said.
Milo is adorable ❤
I love the setup.
Thank you! 🎉
Since Milove was outside so long, does he like fresh grass?
don't be so hard on yourself ur doing great!! its honestly probably because milo is in a new environment and not yet fully comfortable and also because of his GI stasis. i remember when I first got my bunny she wasn't liking all the toys but bunnies r so weird and really picky so it might just be that he's a little lazy and doesn't want to play and wants to just relax. ALSO I'm sure you know but be careful with his neutering because he is an older bunny so going under anesthesia has an increased risk. of course it's all up to you but he can also have a very happy and fulfilling life as a single bun
He's not used to to exercising and having anything to do either, so he's probably bit unsure and gets tired easily.
i love you so much, my hamster passed away this morning and your videos make me feel abit better!❤
I’m so sorry for your loss ❤
@@ThePigRoom thankyou so much! and i love your videos so much:) and isnt windston a little ladies man😂❤️
I THOUGHT THE BUNNY PLUSH WAS REAL AND I WAS JUST STARING AT IT THINK TO MYSELF ''HEY WHY ISN'T THAT GUY MOVING?''
I think this happens with lots of animals that go from smaller spaces to larger ones..feral kittens i know as i rescue them..they adapt eventually..maybe hes a little overwhelmed by it x
3 am and I'm crying over a bunny running through a tunnel.
same
When are you gonna restock ur shop
So I looked at Well Kept Rabbit for the forages for my guinea pigs and I saw a lot of them had catnip in it. I couldn’t find if that was safe for pigs. Have you had any issues?
OMG that was a stuffed bunny, I thought it was Milo and i was like uh, why is he not moving or breathing ...You got me good lol
Early I love how much you care for ur animals its amazing😊
The new addition: the fly distracting you 😂
My rabbit went through this for almost a year. My bunnyblives the taste... i promise he will love the sherwood Timothy pellets too
Stop giving treats and stuff! Tummy reset please
Omg! I've never been so early on one of your videos. I know I'm17 minuets late but I'm really happy!
Watching the video with my buns napping next to me🐇🐇
Love watching your videos ❤.
I love the bunny it’s so nice your the best UA-camr ever love you so much ❤❤
He's so cute❤🐇
Aww theres 2 so cute
Hello I’m kind of late but my bunny had a gut blockage and was refusing water and I had to feed him water so yeah I did and got very wet and he’s good now but I have to monitor him
Ah, the eternal struggle of getting a bunny to eat hay. A tale as old as time :P
And I just want to add again, that digging has been all the rage with all my bunbuns. A baby’s bathtub half full with sand = a very excited little fluff ball :)
Dandelion forridge is so palatable for rabbits or baby food when status is bad.
Please upload soon, we miss you xx
