This music is so 80's I loved the ballroom vibes on it. A good way of winding up and dancing. If you're not a fan of them you would likely think that this is an old song.
I listened to the album version and thought it was pretty damn good, but a little too polished for my tastes. However, listening to this live version validates the polish of the album, so going back to it makes it sound that much better now . Man these guys are TIGHT.
I love the little vocal ad libs Matty often does.... Like around 2:27 where he goes *_"...fix my teeth and she's so american ah aaw..."_* There's something vaguely boy band-ish about that. :) I love all those little idiosyncratic flourishes they put into their music. Every song and lyric and performance is packed with winks and nods and hat tips and references and sonic easter eggs. :)
Ditto. But....that's nothing compared to Brazilian audiences. I don't know what it is....but all of my favorite bands' best festival shows....are damn near always in Brazil. The Brazilian people know how to have a good time....and let the bands know it....which makes them play all the better.

This man is BLATANTLY ripping off Robert Smith's look. Messy curly hair, black eyeshadow, messy red lip stick. Are these guys capable of coming up with an aesthetic and sound that is unique and not a blatant carbon copy of past great bands?
i'm not hating, i'm just worried about his voice. i have lots of respect for the 1975 and matty, i just hope he can keep singing in the future. nodules and hemorrhages on the vocal cords could be a legit future for him if he continues like this :(
