I once beat a g6 BF109 with my bearcat by staying directly on this tail and he called the f8f-1 bearcat op even though I had to pelt him like 700 times before he finally fell out of the sky. I never got any fires either which is why I try and avoid planes that use m.2 .50 cals like the plague. AMerican 20mm cannons are even better than the british hispano mk 5's despite them almost being the same gun lmfao. fucking weird ass snail.

I am still baffled at how that Spitfire was able to catch up to me(a jet F-80 7.7 air rb), at an altitude of around 6000m. I was laughing at the spit for a good minute because of how he's flying a prop at that altitude because whenever I fly that high on a prop I quickly become a bus. And when he started catching up to me and my jet was not accelerating as it should, I went full on panic mode. I dived and he followed, managed to catch up to me for some reason, and then kicked me out of the air. I was forever traumatized by that moment I swore to never fight a Spit at 6000m ever again
its's also a folder-ed aircraft at the very end of the long spitfire line, most people will go and grab their meteor first, forgetting about this thing, however this thing like its little brother the 22 are absolute monsters. they will maul anything you put them against, as while its engine isn't the best it's a damn good one. along with the famous maneuvering capabilities of the spit. you get something that can maul early jets and late props like a pitbull in a nursery.
So glad I had the experience of this and the mk22 being my last two props I had to spade for the entire British tech tree. Did all the other spits to finish spading from 5.0 to 5.7, then the hornet (much fun) then the tempest mkII (good but I like mk5 much more) and then the mk22 and the 24. What a fun finish, it was a pleasure playing them
The ending is my experience with Hispanos. I reminder my first kill on an Italian f-84g like 5 years ago in this thing. Evaded a bnz and then sniped him at 1.4km.
stock hispanos with their goddamn practice rounds may be awful but get something with 4 of them (most later spitfires, the Beaufighters, the Mosquito etc) and it will always slap

tried the mk24 last year, was like every single jet got a massive hardon when they saw me. was constantly getting swarmed by like 5 jets every single match at the start of the game
Just spaded this bird recently, 90% of the time I'm getting dunked on by F-84s, rest of the time I'm jump-scaring enemy bombers at 10k meters up in the air

Then again, you seem to have excellent long range accuracy with the Spitfire, so it probably would have died before it could get out of range. As a side note, the Spitfire very well might be my favourite fighter from WW2. My absolute favourite fighter was shut down by Diefenbaker in 1959 while it was still in development. As another side note, I still remember being in a match with you on the same team probably a year ago, in ground rb at around 8.3. I asked if that was actually you from UA-cam, you said it was, and my response was simply "Neat", to which you replied, "Neat".

Spits become the best fighter at 6-7 BR, scary opponents
Late spits, Ki 84 otsu & most US props will outperform the early jets at that alt.
Straight up, I have an easier time fighting jets than other superprops in the Mk.24
I feel like most of the better player base stays with prop planes cause it’s more challenging and requires more skill imo
