I loved my Motorino scooter 67 kms range 42 kms hr, did take 17 hrs to recharge but in the last 3 yrs, I have had 2 horrible e-bikes, the worst the Daymak Vermont which crapped out on me after 2 mos. and the NCM T1,000 which crapped out on me after a summer and a half. Soured on e-bikes!
I had a lawnmower from a big box store that crapped out on me. Soured on Porsches ever since. 🙄 This video isn't about any of the brands that you mentioned. They don't use the same quality of batteries, they aren't made to the same standards... there's a whole lot about your comment that makes it irrelevant to this video. It's cool if these electric scooters aren't for you, they're not for everyone. But yeah, your comment has nothing to do with the video.
I'm just saying I'm positive on the Motorinoe-scooter-it didn't die on me but was stolen after 18 mos. of daily driving on me. My past 2 e-bikes were terrible. I could go e-scooter again but once bitten twice shy. I am absolutley done with e-bikes!@@PeterLoweOne
I also feel a sense of obligation to warn others. The NCM T1,000 cost me $3,800 and will cost $1,800 to fix. For that kind of money, I could have had a Vespa, which surely would last me more than 8 mos. of daily riding.@@PeterLoweOne
Hello, can you please help me how to reset the maintenance icon ( it appears automatically around 1000km ) :((( just can't find any info anywhere about this
Someone who owns the one said you need the mechanical key to lock the piaggio when you charge the battery. That's because it has no power. It sucks but is ok if it's always behind locked doors when charging.
I have had the Active One for 9 months and put a little over 2000 kms on it. It is a very disappointing scooter. It is slow, acceleration is dismal and it doesn’t climb hills well at all. The suspension is horrible the front shock has zero damping and even the smallest bump or using the front brake bottoms the front suspension.. The local Piaggio dealer refuses to work on it.
The one issue I've seen with people buying early EVs from my time in the auto industry, is a lack of clear understanding on what the vehicle is. When you bought the bike, it would have had the same suspension, and understanding it's acceleration and performance on hills is important to know before you put your money down. There's a reason why Piaggio sells many more gasoline scooters than electric ones right now, and it's because all things are not equal. For someone looking for an electric scooter, who understands their current limitations, this could be the perfect bike, but I don't think the bike is a disappointment, I think your expectations of what it was, weren't in line with what you're experiencing. Lastly, for anyone buying a power sport vehicle, it's extremely important to be sure that your dealer will stand by it for years to come. Jim Gilbert's PowerSports does that.
@@PeterLoweOne I live in Spain where scooters are a main means of transportation. My scooter sees daily use I also have a7 year old 50 cc Kymco Vitality scooter that is better than the Active one in almost every way. Except I don’t have to buy gas and oil for the A1 and service is no problem on the kymco. Even my 20 year old et2 Vespa had better suspension and didn’t dance around on cobblestone roads. For me there is very little value or functionality in the A1 so it will be traded in .

Looks interesting.. do we need a CA DMV license to drive on the roads?
How much does an extra battery cost for the Piaggio?
Gaan jullie de nieuwe Vespa Sprint S 50cc uit 2024 ook testen?
Exciting bikes if you had the mula. Thanks for the review.

I assume these are still registered like a moped or 50cc scooter? They aren't considered an ebike in canada?
Correct. These are scooters, not e-bikes and will need to be licensed accordingly.

I'm just thinking that through... I guess that makes sense as you do disconnect the drive battery from the vehicle when it's charging.
Hi! The engine is the same for Vespa and Piaggio 1?
No they are different motors and batteries.
Great review !
Thanks for watching!!

Where's the Vespa Elettrica test drive you promised us?
It's February... I'm in Canada!! I'll try to get this out somehow in the Spring.
Great review. Does the Piaggio have an optional rear rack for storage? Thanks.
Nice. Thank you.
