I think that this series will have spoiled me for life. There are probably better series out there and I likely have seen them but this is easily the most romantic and heart wrenching series I have ever seen. I just can't get their love out of my head.
It makes me crazy that the ONLY time Marianne says I love you was during the New Years Eve kiss in episode 12!
how have I never noticed this
Marianne shows love, but only says the words once! For example, several times, after making love, Marianne says it’s not like this with other people. If I were Connell, I would want to hear the words!
I guess when looking at it objectively, he did hurt her a lot more than she hurt him and she was very forgiving of that - maybe that delayed things and just took Marianne a bit longer to express her love. Interesting point tbh!
I noticed that. She showed him w actions. He always said it but kept hurting her. He made me angry for hurting her so much. So what’s most valuable?

I have officially decided that I hate open ended series. Just tell me theyre still together and i can live in peace
It wasn't really open ended it was more just optimistic
Like they argue so much that being separated but still be together is a sign of their growth
The series was very true to the novel as that's the way it also ended in the book.
@Nahobinoah they kinda grew out of arguing. Their relationship after he rescued her from her crazy brother, was so calm and loving. My optimistic view is that he went to NYC, while she stayed, but that as they always did, they found their way back to one another. I really hope they did (lol, I know they're fictional characters...)
Normal People ruined it for every other show to come, this is peak TV

Everone pls watch One Day. Very similar in many ways. Also a beautiful series! If you liked Normal People you will probably adore One Day. Or cry your hearts out… I did.

I think if this was real life they would plan a marriage I know it’s a show but there passion for each other is off the scale! It’s a very beautiful story and the two of them are real! I can’t help but think there must be some chemistry there between them!? I don’t know how I started seeing the clip and I checked this out and I love it!

I almost stopped watching after episode three! After rescuing her and telling her he loves her and will never hurt her, he betrays her by asking Rachel to the debs! When Connell apologizes and Marianne forgives him, in episode five, I was elated! Then he screws up again by not talking! Very frustrating!

Soy gallego, poco dado a expresiones afectivas. Nunca sigo películas románticas, me parecen poco naturales, excesivas. Pero esta serie me cautivó. Los británicos saben hacer buenas películas. Y los franceses.

En los cuatro primeros capitulos nos han metido en vena que todos los varones son unos malos bichos con kas mujeres. Han ido metiendo todas la situaciones por las que protestan las feministas.
