Oh yesss Persepolis, one of my personal favourites, the song about Alexander the Great burning down the Persian capital as a revenge act for burning Athens' Acropolis. The passage in Greek read by Sotiris is chilling, I think it is an actual historic quote : 'The flames hugged the wooden walls like starving snakes, devouring in their way the remains of the older times. Persepolis is crying while its flesh is being removed by the flames.'
…and it gave me the chills, when a Greek band let the Mexican audience sing „Burn“ over an over again. It feels like Greece is celebrating their victory over the Persian Empire two and a half thousand years later.
I love that he says "my friends" a lot during the whole concert. Very welcoming and very infectious. This track shines due to the wonderful ebb and flow between the band and orchestra. Great dynamic range so it gets tense as fuck.
They blend well with the orchestral sounds. He certainly has a way with the crowd as well, and his "my friends " is infectious. I enjoyed the performance as a whole, while still flinching at the growls 😂. ❤&✌️
lol you are doing great. I notice that this was super heavy on the orchestral sounds which is nice. Yea, he has such a presence about him. Like the whole band has a vibe, like they are heavy but they stand in place. Its wild.
I wanna do a Council-a-thon with the previous videos I haven't seen this week, HOWEVER, I HAD to stop now and watch this reaction. This one is, BY FAR, one of my most favorite songs. OF. ALL. TIME. I'm a Septic-lover, couldn't miss that ❤
It's super hard to choose only one favourite song from them, it's usually the one I'm listening when someone asks lol, but I end up with Persepolis a lot, gotta love how brilliantly dramatic it is! and the brass section in this show! aaah! Love your reactions, thanks!
Yesssss I've been hoping for Persepolis (along with Dark Art) since the start of your journey, it's a top tier song telling a great story about the ancient city Persepolis which historians believe was likely burned to the ground intentionally 🤘 btw, the last time they say "take the torch and spread the fire" at the very end of the song, look closely for the musician in the background who is 100% a metalhead based on him doing 🤘 while saying it 😂 he's the MVP
This is a song about my country ( Iran/Persia) Persepolis was the great capital of Persia and it got destroyed by Alexander the great and it was the binging of the end of Persian empire
We love you Iranians and your wonderful history. Much love from Greece btw, the whole concert from SepticFlesh is epic. Only today I listened to Prototype and Dogma of Promitheus so so many times
"Οι φλόγες αγκάλιασαν τα ξύλινα τείχη σαν πεινασμένα φίδια , καταβροχθίζοντας στο πέρασμα τους τα υπολείμματα των παλαιών χρόνων . Η Περσέπολη κλαίει ενώ οι φλόγες απομακρύνουν τις σάρκες της". This is what Sotiris (the dude that does all the clean vocals) says in Greek. In English it would be something like " The flames embraced the wooden walls like hungry snakes, devouring the remnants of the old days as they passed. Persepolis weeps as the flames remove her flesh". This song is about the great Persian city of Persepolis which was burned to the ground by Alexander the Great and his men. Thais, an athenian prostitute, convinced Alexander while he was drunk that he should burn Persepolis to avenge all the Greeks (the Persians had destroyed many greek temples and cities in the past, during the Persian wars). I think that this tragic story makes this song even cooler! I'm really happy you enjoy Septic Flesh, cheers from Greece !
I discovered them last year when the new album dropped and haven't stopped since! They've become my favorite band like you said haha! I love seeing you as excited as I was on my first listen to these songs!
@@TheWolffAndTheMelody all of them going back as far as revolution DNA, but Sumerian Daemons is where they started to get their current genre, check out Magic Loves Infinity if you're interested 🤘
Nice reaction, I think you have convinced me to throw Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX in for a spin. For your own sanity mate, you will need to watch the whole show. It is a fantastic concert. Ima throw out a recommend of "Lovecraft's Death" with the option of the studio version or the live one from Sinfonica. Enjoy your continued journey into all that is Septicflesh. Cheers!
Yet again: awesome music from theit consert (just as every other track they played at Infernus Sinfonica). By the way, I wanted to give u another recommendation from sympho death metal world. U already started your journey throught Fleshgod Apocalypse (wish I could clear my memory and learn them again). But did u ever heard of "Aeternam"? They have Septicflesh-Level of epicness and their lyrics is even more folk-based. Moreover, each of their new album is better then previous, and last one is some fcking flawless masterpiece. To begin with, I would recommend songs "Beneath the Nightfall" or "Damascus gate". But beware: you will probably gain addiction to music they created :D
I watched this all the way through, just because you were having so much fun listening to it. Loved the orchestral background, and the guy doing the horns at the end. Too much growling for me, but I will say that these guys are real musicians.
I like how you don't pause the video every 30 seconds to talk. I feel like the experience is ruined when reviewers do that, the flow gets tainted. You keep it genuine
So for me, I really strive to be a REACTOR and that makes reacting to the song, so when people watch and see how I respond is apart of the experience. I will pause if I have a pressing thought that I might forget, but I'm with you. I don't watch too many reaction channels because they pause way toooooo much. I like to see someones face when they get to a part I know they arn't expecting. Appreciate you being here friend! I'm on the same page with you.
