Filipino Cooking in Japan;=Suman is a Filipinos very popular and favorite traditional rice cake dessert made from glutinous rice(malagkit na bigas)cooked in coconut milk, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed until completely done, and serve with granulated sugar. Today I made my own version of Ube Suman with combination of Glutinous rice and grated ube(purple yam)and it brings more tasty and and delicious flavor to this yummy delightful rice cake dessert..
Ingredients;
4 cups glutinous rice(Mlagkit na Bigas)
1 1/2 cups grated ube(purple yam)
1 cup white sugar
2 cans coconut milk
1 cup water
1/4 tsp salt
ube color flavoring essence
banana leaves
