I really enjoyed this awesome eclectic collection by Jonathan. He has lots of dolls I've never heard of or seen. I enjoyed sewing doll kits and the cloth dolls the morning most.
Rachel, Jonathan Green really has the most eclectic collection of Dolls that I have ever seen and so many Dolls I never heard of either🤗🤗!! I so LOVE the Mary Boyer Dolls, especially the midnight blue gown💙💙 that Jonathan made himself and the Doll with the mint green dress💚💚 with silver sparkles and silver wand🪄, but I really LOVE them all!! I also really LOVE that Kammer and Reinhardt 100 Kaiser Baby Doll face 👶on a toddler's body💖💖!! I so LOVE his early Raggedy Ann Dolls❤❤, Joan Walsh Anglund Dolls from the 1970s💖💖, Polly Shorrock Dolls especially the Dolls wearing bonnets💖💖, and Jonathan's Hansel and Gretel Doll❤❤s as much as the beautiful German style floral painting on the doll furniture!! And I also really LOVE the miniature Doll Bathrooms as much as the Doll Closets!!! Thank you Jonathan Green for sharing your totally awesome eclectic Doll Collection😃😃👍👍💯💯💯💯💯!! And thank you Rachel for sharing Jonathan Greene's Doll Collection for the VDC😃😃💯💯💯💯💯!!!
Really awesome varied collection. Yes, definitely collect what you love! Thank you, Jonathan, for sharing! Oh and the group of Virginia Black dolls from the '70's reminded me of one of my adult neighbors when I was a kid. She shared her doll collection with me and it included quite a few in a similar style. That lovely woman let me know it was ok to collect dolls as an adult.😊
What an awesome smorgasbord. of dolls. They are a feast for the eyes. I really enjoyed Jonathan's presentation. Each doll is a gem. He says they make him happy. That's how I feel when I look at my doll collections. We doll lovers have been blessed with an enjoyable hobby that involves hunting for them, restoring them, and even making clothing and accessories for them. I love seeing other people's collections. Thank you for the great video.
Awesome video. so many dolls I personally never heard about . I will watch again this video to learn more about some of them. Thank a million Jonathan. it is always a true pleasure to see you.
Jonathan, your program was at the top of my 'catching with VDC videos'. Totally enjoyable and educational all the way through. The sewing kit collection is a wonder. Collecting dolls in black dresses. How many do you suppose have been redressed in shiny pink trimmed with gathered lace ruffles?! Loved everything about your collecting habits. Please share more in the future.🥰😸❤
I love your sentiment "one doll will lead you to other dolls which will lead you to other dolls". This is SO true for me. I enjoyed this so much thank you for sharing 💜
Oh my that collection of what I call “sewing for dolls.” I’ve never seen the hat doll. My maternal great grandmother taught my to sew by hand for my Miss Revlon doll and my mother and paternal grandmother to sew for myself on a machine. Years later I taught myself heirloom embroidery, including ribbon embroidery, and heirloom sewing. I still like French seams for any area that receives a lot if stress. This was such a delight to see them over time. I love sewing for dolls! Don’t have one, but maybe someday! My current obsession is with yarn haired composition dolls from the 40s. For anyone who doesn’t know, yarn & even embroidery thread, replaced nylon which was needed for parachutes and other aspects of the war effort.
Thanks So much, I love your collection and learned so much.! Enjoyed the learn to sew dolls. My dream project would be sewing a complete wardrobe for one small doll, and a nice case to put it in. You have such A nice variety of dolls and really stoked my interest in some different dolls than I normally collect.
I’m really interested in dolls that can be used as puppets, like the BAPS dolls I’ve just started to collect. I loved your sewing kits and the ways you have things curated and displayed. Thanks!
What an interesting video, I have not heard of of many these wonderful dolls I am interested to know with the early dolls that came with sewing patterns were these meant for a sewing machine or to be done by hand. I really enjoyed the collection Johnathan thank you so much for sharing them with us.
Amazing! Eclectic has always been my mode. I really enjoy how into the modern Jonathan gets as I tend to stop around the 1940s. I was thrilled to see a few of the more unknown types as I tend to gravitate towards those, especially in the early period. Now I know at least one of the folks I go up against on the pink body dolls.... lol.
@Jonathan Green I always buy what I love, but for some reason in searches (not in the field) I go up into the 40s. I wish you knew more about those pm dolls with the pink bodies I saw one and you mentioned her and not knowing much) -- I have many and always buy them when I find them and still I have yet to learn much about them, but I'm obsessed with them. Another beautiful thing about other doll folks is that we (in general) get each other on that level... having hundreds of dolls is a plus, not a minus. lol
Love to talk about my doll collection. I make them from vintage screwdrivers and fabrics. I had an exhibition in Covent Garden, London in April/May 2022 and one in Jan/Feb 2023 Benjamins Pollocks. Love to share and inspire with you guys 😍
In about the 25:00 mark there's a ginger doll with stripes legs, is she the wooden one mentioned .? Her head is a horizontal oval shape. Very interesting
Very few people collect Raggedy Anne/Andy dolls. I have a few, I particularly like the Black Mammy ragdolls. They represent a special period of American History and every one of them is different because most of them are home made.
Watching this makes me realize we won’t be having our chats at convention anymore. We roomed together in 2022 and discovered so much in common. Miss ya J!
This video showed his passion. How amazing, a guru he was! RIP.
He was the best.
Thank you! ♥️
