I was going to upload this another day but I managed to get the editing done quickly enough so here it is. Thought I would use some fan art for the unscripted videos from now on. I am looking to commission some proper artwork for the channel so if anyone knows someone I can hire then please do get in contact or suggest someone I can get in touch with. I have some specific ideas for stuff but you will have to wait and see on that! Anyway, I am off to bed in a minute since it is nearly 3 in the morning when this finished uploading.
I love the artwork on this video. The 'ye olde censhorshippe' art is fab. I used to tinker a bit with photoshop (I made my ID cameo pic with photoshop) but never liked vector art software. I am now on Linux and trying to learn art production software on there. Krita is good. GIMP a tad unfriendly for someone coming from photoshop. But anyway, Neither Krita nor Gimp are generally used to make vector art, which is probably what you are after.
If Ridley Scott manages to create something that visually resembles his first film, The Duellists, then that'd be great. But I have a feeling the costumes will be less accurate this time round even though he probably has ten times the budget of the Duellists. I think that if these changes were to be made, I think it would be for storytelling reasons. I think someone on the production is going to make an argument that having the French army wearing different uniforms will confuse the audience. So I fully expect them to have Waterloo era clothing in 1793 at Toulon for instance, and for that to stick for the remainder of the story.
Always nice to see you sir and a good video. And two months to make a film with 6 battle scenes, oh god we are going to get Braveheart and Patriot battlescenes again, where the French troops take one volley break and then the British break formation and then Napoleon grabs a flag and rallys the men and wins the day, persumabily spearing some moustach twirling villian of a British General who would make Simerson from Sharpe look like Wellington. Or alternatively it will be like the Spanish Princess where we see only snipits of the battle intercut with something else, likely those "rip each other's clothes off and kill each other at the same time." (as said in an articale about the show) type scenes between Napoleon and Josephine.
Thank you. I am an American who found "The Patriot" completely ludicrous on so many levels. E.g., an English officer envisioned 1944 France and emulated the Nazis by burning a church full of civilians....
Is anyone really surprised about "Gladiator 2" or indeed the casting for Napoleon here? Ridley Scott's been trying and failing to recapture the glory days of Gladiator for over 21 years now, he's clearly given up and is just going back to what he knew worked in the past
After seeing what Ridley Scott is capable of with The Last Duel, I'm cautiously optimistic. Although Joaquin Phoenix IS a strange choice; he's much too old, and he doesn't exude the sort of martial charisma some actors do.
