    As one of the old Warrex - Centurion engineers that has been working with David getting the old Centurion CPU6 running is fun seeing "Hellorld!" spread around the world. Enjoyed your video.

      Thanks! David's videos are some of my favorites; I look forward to them each week. It's great that there is such a great community to help bring these landmark machines back to life. I really appreciate your efforts!

    Congrats to see you are still mowing your own grass. After 40 years of mowing my 1.25 acre lawn using a 36" walk behind, I finally turned it over to a lawn service. Hellorld!

      1.25 acres is a lot! I'm a piker with only 1/3 acre. I do use a walk behind normally except for the 3 weeks that is leaf time. I enjoy mowing; but that's all. I have a service that cleans up, trims, mulches, fertilizes, etc (I'm not a big fan of working in the dirt). Thanks for watching!

    Hey David. Great set of videos! I peeked at a few, and will come back and watch them all. I was wondering if you have gotten PWM (in bare metal) to work? Thanks for any help or insights you may provide.

      Thank you! That's a great idea. I haven't really tried PWM, timers, or DMA with bare metal. I've been working on a 6502 emulator for the Pico. This will consume the next several chapters. We'll see where we go from there. Thanks for the suggestion!

    Any thoughts on the Pimoroni PicoVision?

      It looks like a pretty cool device; however I haven't really dug into it.

    Cool challenge! I want to try it but I'm just a student... Could be fun.

      It's not hard; you can do it. I was in college when I designed my first computer. In fact with a Pico and the programs for this video (see the link in the description), you will have everything you need to get started. Good luck!

    Can the PIO do it?

      @LifewithDavid1  10 місяців тому

      It could do it two different ways. The first would be to just emulate the UART and get text from the main processor. The second would be to set up a DMA channel and have it write out the message with no processor interaction after the process was started. That would take a little more time than I had available right now. I'm picking up leaves every day for the next week or so; ah, the joys of a heavily wooded lot Thanks for the comment!
