A couple of common house rules that are normally played, that would have affected this combat. 1. Jack of all Trades is usually considered to not apply for combat skills. 2. If a weapon has been received as a benefit, but the character doesn't have that skill, it is often ruled that they would have skill level 0 in that weapon.
