You scored a really good example there Adam! That engine has been very well maintained and should run even better with the right plugs in there. My guess is those Bosch plugs were too cold compared to the Ngk which contributed to the carbon build up. Short trips and no highway cruising would also get them car ones up.
That engine should run forever now especially in your hands! Look forward to part 2!

Another good video. Looking forward to part 2. I'll second Mark Eaton's comment about 303 Protectant. Great product. I used it for 26 years on my Miata. Interior never faded or cracked.

I love the xj40s, used to have one black on black, it was a beautiful car and it turned many heads. This video makes me want to buy one.

The hose you removed looks good . Usually it is cracked. Check out 303 protectant. Makes hoses, belts and rubber look and last like new. fantastic product.
    Good job.

Very clever to clean the oil tube - not common to check it but it would be a pity to soar clean oil in that dirty mess ! You could have chosen a V12 6.0 to have the complete Jaguar V12 collection (and some rewards to your favorite part supplier and gas station !)

Very useful information in all videos for all jaguar lovers! Please plan a video about changing brake fluid and servicing the brake system on XJ40/XJS. Thank you for your nice work

Thanks for all your videos. Some of them has been very helpful. Although mine is an 1971 E-Type V12.

Pretty sure Champion spark plugs are the OEM for the XJ40.

What happened to the second, and third part of these videos? The playlist doesn't show any of the other work that you talked about in your outtake? Am i missing something?

Suggest that you obtain some magnetic trays, they are God send as far as I'm concerned because they don't get knocked over sending the contents all overo the place; also useful for holding cloth's on wings etc.

They are great and I use them sometimes. I like these little containers for fasteners I might not get to for a week or so. Easy to put on the shelf and store

Think that perhaps you could do with a stronger white light cast onto the engine bay.

I'll try and fix the lighting situation temporarily. Will be replacing all the lights later in the summer

On these engines I'm not 100% sure but on other Jaguar engines I've had they've always run best on normal NGK or Champion plugs

Living With A Classic thx for the quick answer. So it’s better to stick to the originals plugs and replacing them more often. I have a 4L 1990 sovereign and after battling with air con for three summers straight I finally had it working. I’m enjoying your maintenance vids a lot thx again just subbed. Greetings from France
