I have spent many hours as a child/teenager at the local library. I was a bookworm (still am), a sensitive child with a vivid imagination, and it was nice to come to a place, where I could dream myself away in a world of books, and nobody would bother me and people would speak quietly and not yell. We were 4 kids in the household, so finding a quiet place at home was always a challenge 😁 The library was my refugie as a child, so your video brought back some happy memories Isla 🥰📚Libraries are treasure houses of knowledge, highly underrated in my opinion. I’m married to a librarian by the way, because that’s how dedicated I am ☺️
I had a very unhappy childhood so my refuge, like yourself, was my local library. The libary building had once been a large Georgian townhouse owned by a wealthy philanthropist whose family had donated the building to the community to be used as a children's and adult'slibrary. It was such a beautiful building which still retained the original oak flooring and a very grand staircase. To me, it seemed like a truly magical place full of large oak bookshelves adorned with wonderful books which I treasured. The library was my home from home and a place where I felt immense happiness, far away from the chaos of my childhood.

Used to listen to book restoration, always a great way to relax. I think the first novel I read was Moby Dick. I also have written a novel, heavily influenced by C. S. Lewis. But I like the short story format. Edit: one day I'm going to take up the offer of a glass of water 😂

I also just finished the ACOTAR series and that was interesting and spicy on audiobook with the sound effects! On a different note, Chasing the sun by linda geddes is about how sunlight shapes our bodies and minds. haha hope you find more interesting books!
