    After all these years, this is still one of my favourite ASMR-videos. Even with all the background noise and less than stellar video quality, this has something special! We have gotten spoiled with 4K video and flawless sound but some of the pioneering stuff will be great forever.

      I really enjoy the low tech, simple asmr videos of the past. So many have become so over-produced now days and its really not necessary, in fact I feel they are too artificial and just don't have the same effect.

    Pro Tip: Whenever I work on a computer I wear an anti-static wrist band or I make sure to touch a metal surface (like the metal stand on my desktop lamp) before touching any computer hardware. This is to insure I don't accidentally discharge static electricity and fry hardware.

    • @LLOYDSASMR
      @LLOYDSASMR  9 років тому +13

      Great tip! But with this computer it doesn't matter, it has been deceased for a long time. Thats why i decided to use it as a prop.

    • @kxmode
      @kxmode 9 років тому +6

      Oh. Well, okay then. :)

    • @QJordon
      @QJordon 9 років тому

      I was going to say the same thing, Kxmode. Without an anti-static wrist band to ground you to the chassis, there is a good chance in frying the chips. I work on amateur radios and computers, and it is a must. I assumed that Lloyd's ASMR was using a prop.

    • @Kougeru
      @Kougeru 9 років тому +12

      Real Pro tip: repairing hundreds, possibly thousands of computers in the last decade+ and I've never had issues with static nor has anyone I know that also work in IT. There's no real evidence to suggest this is really an issue that causes damage. Of course it's better to be safe than sorry but all you need to do is touch the metal on the psu case every 10 minutes or so and you'll be fine anyway.

    • @QJordon
      @QJordon 9 років тому

      The key is being safe over sorry... And I have seen chips be blown. Usually on the transceiver side versus the working on a computer. Still it is better to be safe and ground yourself to the chassis.

    Lloyd, I have to say I've been really enjoying your ASMR as of late. I listen to ASMR videos while I work (helps me focus without having to flip through music constantly). Your role-plays have been a nice change from the reused themes out there. Also your channel sticks with what ASMR videos are really about. Kind of annoyed of how many ASMR artists think only tongue clicking and wet lips that whisper nonsense make "great" ASMR.

    Pay attention, kids.. back in the good old days, a PC really needed all those cards to work. And they were the old super-tight ISA connectors.. or if you were really brave, the humungous board-snapping VLB connectors. These days, everything is on the mobo, and the only thing you might plug in is a graphics card.. even then you're only dealing with a woosy PCIe connector. And don't get me started on those huge disk-wrecking IDE plugs..

    That looks like an old i386 or something from around that era surprised there's any of them still kicking around if it is. Cool vid surprisingly relaxing to figured it wouldn't be seeing as I work in IT but was so nice going.

    missin the stache. hope you get that hernia surgery soon and that all goes well, my dad had a pretty bad one a while back and waited 4 months after the doc told him to get surgery and he turned out fine. i hope that brings you some sort of relief, stay safe.

    So nice seeing so many comment's! As always awesome video. And just to put in my two coins on the whole "omg get a new camera it's like a dinosaur" I like it a lot with your style. With your role plays of record stores, old computers, clothing stores ect. It gives a HUGE boost to that authenticity I crave in asmr videos. So when you do get your fancy new camera on role plays that deal with old things (like your amazing antique road show videos, my personal favorites) I think it would be best to go back to the roots and bring out the dinosaur.
    But again just my two cents, just keep up the amazing work. And to go on a bit of a rant here, all these comments about helping people sleep and relax , I really hope that sinks in that you help hundreds of peole everyday just by making them relax. And I want to thank you, I know it's not as meaning full as I can only say it in text on a youtube comment but some asmr artist don't fully realize how much we appreciate you guys. I love this community and I really hope we can really make this channel take off.

      Thank you so much! Thats what i figured i would do use the current camera for the old school videos and the new for more modern videos. I appreciate the support sooo much and when i hear that my work actually helps people it makes putting the hardwork and time into these videos worth the while. Again Thank you sooo much for enjoying my work and being supportive, it is greatly appreciated and always will be from lloyds asmr.

    As much as I love your Asmr videos if you find any free time in your I'm sure very busy schedule could you make another video where it's like the person goes missing and your the cop and you end being the bad guy type of video? I found it very entertaining and it was also relaxing at times when you spoke. If not I understand but keep making Asmr videos. Please don't stop! haha
