There is no falsetto in Indian singing. She is actually singing from her chest. Listen to her speaking voice - you'll find it's the same.

@user-xy2te6ev2b classical musicians singing in any other voice other than chest is usually frowned upon. Head voice and falsetto is permitted nowdays only due to influences from other music. She's from an era where chest voice was only permitted. This is just her chest voice
Lol no those melismas are not easy, she makes it look easy. Mastering those runs or melismas takes whole life for any classical Indian singers.
I know - I can't help but feel that the lady keeps trying to downgrade Shreya. Maybe it's jealousy - she doesn't seem willing to acknowledge that non-western music may have some techniques that have no counterpart in the west.

@@sujatabose7983 no I don't think it's jealousy. It's just not being informed on indian classical. We know how many years it takes to master Indian classical style. The lady doesn't know that. So, she is presuming that it would be easy. Plus foreigners are somewhat skeptical of anything that confuses them.
She is the no.1 playback singer in for the last 2 decades (I mentioned Playback not Indian classical which is very diverse and deep and the most difficult form of singing and also the oldest form of music in the world)
