Go and listen to *Deeds of Flesh - Disinterred Archaic Heap* and *Avowed Depraved* from *Reduced to Ashes* album, the best snare ever recorded on any death metal album! (that I've heard).
kiwidubz also the song *The Endurance* from that album is the most insane metal masterpiece ever recorded. (that I've heard).

what kind of snare is he using? I see only a top ring with tuning lugs and nothing on the bottom? unless it is obscured by something. But a snare with not bottom head, aka resonator, so that would mean that the actual snares would be under the top head, aka batter. I've seen "free floating snares" like you get from Drum Corps made by Pacific drum and percussion; but nothing like this before. It, I suppose in theory would project sound quite well. If anyone knows, please let me in on the secret!

Yes he does and this is one of the most annoying trigger sounds you can probably have, but this is just my opinion.

Why do so many drummers cheat with their ride hands these days? Also, the way he articulates the notes in this song doesn't sound right. If you can't hear it then compare this to the album version. It's subtle but it changes the entire feel of the song.
i myself an extreme drummer...trey needs to work out on his left handblast ranging from 250bpm onwards....a slightly heavier sticks 5a or 5b will help to bounce faster and better consistency...

he had probably been blasting all night and was getting fatigued, he usually blasts like a robotic machine.
