It seems like the wars of the roses were mostly about women then about men. Very powerful characters, determined to fought for their sons and husbands although not in battle.
It was about fighting for the crown. Women who had no say in the matter, had to fight for the sons and husbands because they would be the ones to die - whether on the battlefield or off of it - if they were on the losing side.
