Eicher is not owned by volvo it's the same company that owns royal Enfield, Siddhartha Lal is the Md, Eicher makes commercial vehicles and it sold the Massey Ferguson tractors to Tafe, later they joined hands with volvo group in 2008 to manufacture commercial vehicles like trucks etc, it's the same group that makes this bus, I can say this is the low cost arm the original volvo bus, this VEVC group bought the Volvo India operations from it's parent volvo group.
That's what i was wondering that the Engine has noise comparing to Original Volvo bus

It’s not a joint venture . Eicher is owned by Volvo and in order to introduce low cost model with front engine unlike Volvo rear engine they are using eicher brand
Small correction eicher is not owned by volvo, this bus is a result of a joint venture between eicher and volvo called VEVC that makes commercial vehicles
