You must be very proud of that performance at that age. High energy, very musical. Pretty bold and confident to throw in the extra glissandi and interlocked octave riffs. Great job.
Many thanks! Yes, at 16 I was audacious with some of my artistic choices haha. But, L.M. Gottschalk might have liked the extras, imo. Thanks again for watching! :)
Thank god for this. 16 and playing gottschalk...after so much cultural decline this young man has restored a lot of faith for me. Louisiana in the 19th century lived again in San Francisco. Bravo!
Perhaps the recording or perhaps the Piano, but the treble of that piano does not sound good.. well done though. Impressed with his composure. I played a Mozart concerto, No.23, with orchestra at 17 and I was visibly nervous till the 2nd movement. The Good old days.
He was 16 and playing piano like that?!? Wow!! Incredible.
This is my favorite classical piece.
Gottschalk is a delightful American classic. May his music endure. I hope that young pianist had a good career, because he certainly had the talent.
