Hi Lori, The retreat sounds like it was so much fun! I used to cross stitch and made many beautiful pictures, especially for my mom and sis while they were alive. Now that I'm 75 yrs, my eyes are not good enough to cross stitch any more. 🙁 I'm intending to get my massive amount of cross stich books, floss, and other materials all together to donate. One thing I used to do when I finished a picture, especially a big picture and/or one I was gifting, was to bring it to Michael's framing department. They did a beautiful job framing the pictures, and will even frame the picture if you bring your own frame. Seemed to be reasonably priced and worth it to me to have a professional job. Love watching your videos, especially DT hauls.

Hi Lori:). This was so interesting! I started cross stitching in 1983 and I used to stay up until the very wee hours of the morning stitching for many years. All of my finished pictures that were mounted and framed were lost during a move from MA to FL and were never found. It hurts my heart still to think about it💔. After that happened I still stitched but it has never been the same…I did so many pictures that I still find myself remembering ones I had forgot about. One of my favorite was “The Bear Collector” by Alma Lynne. It was so intricate and took me a long time to do. All my pictures were double or even triple matted and then put in beautiful frames. Anyway I thought you might feel my sorrow so to speak. I found those variegated flosses you showed to be gorgeous and sparked my interest into maybe getting back to stitching. You are an inspiration~you have a special spark in ur personality 👍😊🤗. I’m still catching up on these particular stitching videos:)

I used to cross stitch quite a bit. Not sure if my eyes or arthritic hands will let me but I’m sure going to try. Your excitement is infectious! Thanks for sharing.
Oh my goodness girl I think you had a wonderful trip. Back in the day I did counted cross stitch exclusively of any other thing I did. Gave most of it away cause I thought when I am old and retired (now) I can do this some more. I tried to pick it back up right before I retired and I just can’t see well enough to do it. Makes me sad. I have several pieces I kept and I cherish them. But my card making and scrapbooking keep me busy. So enjoy your shares. Glad you had a good time on your trip.
I have some old DMC Variegated floss. It's not even made anymore...at least, when I pulled up the most recent DMC list, it wasn't on there. I love them so much. My supplies had been packed up in the attic, for several years, and I had forgotten what I had...my sister had given me hers too. I went through and checked off the list and was happy that I had the majority of the colors, plus some. I pulled everything out to do an Ole Miss cross stitch for my grandson who is due in July... :) I found a sunflower for my Granddaughter...can't do something for one and not the other right? I quickly found out my eyes are not what they used to be. I have to use magnifyer....I need that light!!!! I may have to get one before I'm done with Little Man's. I went through all of my patterns, and we have so much from the late 80's and 90's....all of the country stuff. So funny....And to think, I've always made things for everyone else and nothing for me.....I'll have to find something that I can do quick for myself. ha ha.
