Looks great and the idea itself is wonderful but, just a few years later all that mechanic and technology that makes this work will fail. If you're in short term, great car but be warned, this one is doomed to fail.
Guaranteed to break abour a year after your 4 year warranty ends. I owned quite a few BMWs over the years. If you treat the car right and maintain it than it will last but you do have to be a glutton for punishment if you get a convertible
Bullshit, had a 2014 435i F33 and the hardtop worked perfectly, only after some leaks we had some problems, but that was because of the water not the mechanism or something. Now have a 2015 M4 F83 and the hardtop works perfectly as well. Before the F33 435i I had a E93 325i which also had a hardtop (similar or maybe even the same mechanical system) which I never ever had any problems with. Before that I also used to have a Peugeot 307CC which was also a hardtop cabrio, my first cabrio, also never had any issues with that hardtop mechanism or anything. They're pretty solid and they are really awesome, I never want to sell my hardtop convertible M4 (with full Akrapovic exhaust system and lowered on a H&R set), it is literally THE perfect car with the hardtop.
@@vlorisperry Perfect but you had leaks though? So no it's not prefect and the hard tops can and do fail. I know this because a friend of my owns a indy BMW shop.
