Everything about Berdly gives me hardcore Pokemon Rival Vibes. He's egotistical, a shittalker, he's got a fire boss theme, it looks like his character was pulled out of a pokemon game

If I had a nickel for every time my favorite character of a game series was an egotistical blue bird with a cocky attitude and rivalry with the main character, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened thrice.
The thing I love the most about him is actually his battle sprite I.e. he is the only opponent to actually brandish a visible weapon (not even Queen nor Spamton NEO do that). It actually makes him look kind of badass

Berdly was such a dumb character at the beginning but he had one of the best battle themes surprising, it actually caught me off guard on how good it is
Honestly after that second fight and after the fight where the queen was controlling him..I can only imagine how frightening he would have been had he been around in the undertale timeline. Dude would’ve been one of the top fighters in the royal guard for sure.
If there's anything I'll admit to being jealous of what Berdly has, it would be this pretty neat theme. Also his badass attack patterns because what the hell why can't I attack like that?! >:l
