I read about these people in history, they are the most feared warriors in the whole south pacific image a little island run Hawaii, Samoa Fiji etc etc for 400yrs that crazy
I’ve seen a really nice inlaid Tongan war club. Although it was probably more in the line of art than weapon I have no idea what they made those shits out of because it seemed heavier than metal, wouldn’t want to get hit with it!!
Tonga has always intrigued me, after I read about it when I was younger, so we chose to honeymoon there, 25 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, on both the mainland and Fafa Island. The locals are very friendly and the scenery beautiful, so we’d love to visit again!
1st time watching and last...geez can he talk ANY faster??!! Not relaxing in the slightest. If so many people are making the same comment why isn't he making an effort to SLOW DOWN?
I love going to Tonga with my family every few years. When you talk to the people of Tonga they are very friendly and try to help the best way they can and always love to joke, watching this makes me want to go back now 😭💔 ofas brother!
U guys in the US or anywhere else in the world might not know about Tonga but us in the South Pacific all know about each other extremely well. We all live on islands, we are tight knit communities, we are all family & we all look out for each other, we are the first to help each other out when needed, we are extremely protective of each other meaning whether it's Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Australia, Norfolk Island, no matter which island we come from we are one family under the Pacific Island tree
@@circleinforthecube5170 I dunno why i wouldn't be ok, I live on the world's biggest island & the world's smallest continent on the planet, but Ta mate for the concern about our tiny little family. I hope u & urs are happy & healthy
Last time I was there I climbed that shipwreck and jumped off! You should definitely check out Fafa Island which is more of an upmarket resort island and the Vava'u islands which are the most beautiful in the whole of Tonga.
I went to Pangaimotu on a boat ride around 4 years ago, be of the best experiences as a western born Tongan myself. It's a beautiful place the fish in the sunken ship are do beautiful when you swim with Them, water is clearer than my skin and you can easily walk anywhere
I remember going there I’ve had lots of fun there. My mom is Tongan and every few years we go there. I was going there this year, but can’t because of quarantine.
the beauty of tonga is not resorts it’s the people and the culture ! the tongan people are amazing, if you ever go to tonga embrace yourself with the locals. they love the palangi
I'm from Tonga and that island belongs to my grandparents(Big MAMA'S parents, from my mum's side). I grew up on that island and I don't believe that everything has changed since 2016 and 2017(my last year there and my first year back since the age of five. Everything looks beautiful. They also use to have little houses that you could stay in but everything got recked after a storm.
@@niteshkumarpatel I'm average. I live in New Zealand but sometimes we sent food there in huge containers and other things that they might need. So the answer is no, I'm not rich
I've been to Tonga. You can snorkel with humpback whales in another island. I think the name of the other island is Vava'u, but it was so long ago, I may be mistaken. Pretty expensive, though. It was also very popular for sport fishing. A tour of the island is also fun. Lots of cliffs, funny coconut trees, fishing pigs... I want to go back to Tonga! Edit: how can you travel without an underwater camera? Seriously? 😂🌻🌻 Just kidding! Happy travels!
You should visit Haapai during New Years. When the clock strikes 12, there are unknown lights that come from the seas. It is known to be lights that comes from people who died in the sea. It happens only once a year. Noone knows where these lights come from.
My family and I have been enjoying Pangaimotu since I was the early 90's. It is called Big Mama's Yacht Club because back in the day they used to have Fishing Tournaments that drew in all the Yachters from abroad. I remember watching the foreigners competing to see who had the biggest catch of the day. My dad's side of the family is from the village you caught the ferry boat in. Ma'ufanga. That's where I grew up. Literally jumping off the wharf and swimming near the yachts & fishing boats (before the water became so polluted). Hope you enjoyed Pangi's and thanks for the video. I'm also half American, raised in Washington state. Where are you from here in the states?
really glad you have this posted. Because of the recent destruction of Tonga by the volcano , I am viewing everything Tonga related. So glad you got this . Wonder how much of it survived the eruption.
Hope you guys didn’t get stuck anywhere too awful over the weeks following this...actually getting stuck on a tropical island sounds amazing right now...

Great video. I agree with some of the other comments. I’m sure it was slow because of the virus but I’d like to leave some tips. 1. You should jump off the boat like other comments have suggested. 2. Tongas pretty strict about observing the sabbath day. Mostly everyone is Christian. 3. You’ll have more fun with the locals. I think some of the workers on the excursion probably didn’t speak much because they didn’t speak or understand English but that’s just an assumption. 4. There are other amazing Islands to your. The comment section has some great ones.
Tonga is Covid19 free which is amazing!! We dont really need tourists to survive like other pacific islands who have islands or most of their country set up purposefully for Tourists. Sunday Tongans are at Church. Secondly resort islands/beaches are specifically setup to cater for overseas Tourists because of their swimming attire (wear bikinis and going shirtless) as this is culturally inappropriate to the Tongan people. If you dress like that and walk around any other area of Tonga you're likely to get arrested lol. You probably would've noticed the locals wore pants and tshirts even dresses while swimming.
