I can’t wait to see how this project pans out. Can I ask if you started with a store subscription or just as a “personal” until it makes enough money to pay for the subscription
I add a niche or drop one occasionally. Research is so Much easier now. I walked into a thrift store the other day that another reseller told me had been picked over due to a week long dollar bag sale. Walked out after spending $3 and two hours with three bags and after all expenses I figure profit of at least 200$. I did look Up Quite a bit for sell through rate. Research is so important. An hour or two spent at the computer researching is very valuable.
This is wonderful, and im excited to see the processes you develop over time with this store. This is realistic for many, starting out with a limited budget and not having a lot of money to initially invest...... I know you do free returns as a clothing seller in your main store, what have you chose to set the "Rags to Riches" store with and what are your thoughts on brand new clothing resellers offering free or buyer paid returns?
With your previous experience, do you feel like steaming clothes before photographing have a better chance to sell? Isn’t it better for presentation or it doesn’t matter? Thanks.
I don’t have much experience outside of jeans but I do think steaming high end clothes to present them better would be good. But for the casual ordinary stuff, I personally wouldn’t spend my time on it.
Hello and thank you for your content, you and your husband (Kyle) are great. Does he use square mode when taking pictures? I use square mode when picturing jeans But it seems like I always have to crop.
Yup! Square mode all the way. Sometimes if the item is huge, Kyle has to stand back a bit to photo it which gets some non-board stuff so I have to crop it out
Hi, nice video and I hope you succeed with your challenge. BTW - what do you mean by 'not a very good sell-thru rate' or 'almost 100% sell thru' ? You mentioned that a few times. How are you calculating that?
Thanks! You calculate it by narrowing down the results to similar items that you're researching. You'll see how many items are listed and how many have sold. Divide sold vs active and you'll get a percentage of how many listed sell within 90 days. Hope this helps! The higher the percentage, the better. So if it's 100% sell thru, that means statistically all items listed will sell within 90 days. If it's 50% sell thru, statistically half the items listed will sell within 90 days. So on and so forth.
wow $50 is ambitious, I would have started with at least $200 Those mailers are killing your profit though. Maybe find someone to donate a thick garbage bag and make your own poly mailers?
I’m starting a brand new store! I was using a store Kyle had 20 some reviews on (basically new) but someone said I wasn’t being legit so I am closing that old account and starting a brand spanking new one :)

Excited
love it! you got it this
Thanks you!
This is a great challenge. Can’t you use the Tyrvek waterproof envelopes from the post office that are free to ship?
I’ll go check when I’m at the post office!
Getting a popcorn supply ordered. Good Luck, you'll be great!
Thank you! 🙏
I can’t wait to see how this project pans out. Can I ask if you started with a store subscription or just as a “personal” until it makes enough money to pay for the subscription
I love this.
Ermehgerd! what a great video 🔥
lol! Thank you 😄
Great content - thanks!
Not interested in clothing or jeans, but I love watching resale content.
Glad to hear that!
I add a niche or drop one occasionally. Research is so
Much easier now. I walked into a thrift store the other day that another reseller told me had been picked over due to a week long dollar bag sale. Walked out after spending $3 and two hours with three bags and after all expenses I figure profit of at least 200$. I did look
Up
Quite a bit for sell through rate. Research is so important. An hour or two spent at the computer researching is very valuable.
Zenga is stupid expensive retail. I cried inwardly when you put them back lol
I’m starting out with free 60 day returns mainly because I want the buyer to have as much trust as possible with my brand new store. :)
I sell Eileen Fisher every week consistently...good luck!!
Babolat hoodie you passed right in the beginning has 200% sell through. Not much money but quick flip.
Dang it!
I love this video! 🔥🔥🔥
Ermenegildo Zegna... Standard shirt is like $300 and goes up to above $1000!
Wow!
I can’t find the items in your store. I assume they sold that quickly? Maybe it’s easier when you share the channel with your UA-cam
I think they’re still indexing. I see my listings from my store view but when I go to check on my store from another account, I don’t see them 🤔
@@carrieathome Ok thanks!
Ty for doing this from ground level. One question...don't you have to be prepared to pay the shipping at first from your nest egg amount?
The shipping label purchase comes from the money the buyer will give me :)
good luck :) 🍀
Thank you 😁
Surely, you had a nicer floor than the garage.
I think the concrete background looks cool!
Did you start a whole new eBay store with zero reviews/sales?? Or are you adding this category to your existing store?
I’m starting a brand new store! I was using a store Kyle had 20 some reviews on (basically new) but someone said I wasn’t being legit so I am closing that old account and starting a brand spanking new one :)
@@carrieathome oh nice! I’m thinking of trying this challenge myself just for fun and to learn a new category and just try a different sales model than what I’m doing currently. Thank you for the quick response, I’m excited to see hire it goes for you!
To Carrie and other Resellers-Do you use quickbooks? If not, what do you use?
I personally don’t but I’ve heard of others using Quickbooks or a simple excel spreadsheet
I wonder if because you won't be afforded to add new stuff daily if the algorithm will keep your items at the bottom of the list. 😢
I know, that’s the struggle of not being Top Rated and not having a large startup of inventory. But once I get some money back, I’ll start looking to commit to 1/day. For now, I’m throwing all my hooks out there to get some quick wins.
Maybe i should start a similar challenge with one of my niches see if i have learnt anything in the last two years xd
