@Aiden Pearce see an illness is an illness. All deserve treatment and attention..and they are not in our control( as people say just be positive naa!)..That's where people misunderstand.
@Aiden Pearce even arthritis and tuberculosis can't be compared..one is joint related one is bacterial infection. But the problem is people see mental illnesses as some scary thing...some mental asylum thing. That's the stigma. They are very common actually (1 out of 4 people).
@Aiden Pearce im not pointing you. Its nice that you are aware. There are people who say 'depression is nothing. Medications are harmful'...etc etc
I lost good 8 years of life due to chronic depression. Thanks to my friends I am out of it. Things are not completely sorted out. But I believe they will be all good in future.

Hi you lovely people
*There is a comment on this video (Surprised with Courtside tickets) by SuperwomanVlogs that says that he wants to kill himself. it's by a person named Aashir Ahmed*
Seeing that you guys are considerate and kind please do drop a comment letting him know he's not alone. the comment may or may not be legit but it's only going to take a minute of your time. let's use the Internet to do something kind today
here's a link to the video : ua-cam.com/video/FMDVvNqrzvU/v-deo.html
I failed in JEE. I couldn't compete with others in coching centre. I was depressed. I cried every evening. I didn't have any friend. I tried to commit suicide. I just can't bear the pain. I stopped going coching and studying. locked myself in a room for 24hrs.
After seeing me like that my dad took me to psychiatry department of a famous hospital (I'm not exposing the name). There I meet two doctor. One of them give me a tablet and told me to take twice after mill. and another doctor talk with me and give me advice. I'm going there for like last 1 year. I'm very happy now. I read regularly and go to college and I have many friends. I took admission in a local college in physics. Sure it's not as good as iits but I'm happy and optimistic about my future. thanks AIB for this video. I hope other learns a lesson from this. My request to every student is don't fall in rat race.
rainbowxxbat stfu 😒😒😡
rainbowxxbat different treatment work for different people, depending on the severety of the problem as well as the person themself. My depression is manageable without pills. Remud Everlander may find that pills work best for them. Go with what helps YOU the most, and don't assume that other people are having the exact same experience a you. Mental illness is tricky that way.
@rainbow, my friend we all find our solutions, and they all work. I've heard of people using yoga, weed, and a whole spectrum of alternative remidies. (If yoga can cure homosexuality based upon the words of a guru, Im sure it can cure depression), (weed is a well known self medication and it works by numbing the brain), but from my personal experience I still prefer the meds. I hate them, they kill my artistic side, but I still dare not leave them for the sake of my family, Ive already lost 2 friends to the illness (one of them lasted 3 years off meds)
rainbowxxbat in fact I have been to a psychologist and I have been diagnosed with depression so I do speak from personal experience k Thx bye
rainbowxxbat in addition my psychologist was very understanding. I told her in no uncertain terms was I willing to take medication, so she sat wth me me to find alternate options. The treatment of depression is as much of a dialogue as depression itself
Why God? Why is AIB gone??????

My mom keeps telling me to exercise and stop being lazy. My parents tell me just not to stress too much so casually like how do I that? My parents think mental illness and going to psychiatrist = mental asylum and I am a mental case like HOW DO I EXPLAIN IT TO THEM AND EVERYONE WHO DOESNT GETS IT-
Mini Mistique Stan EXO Stan Chogiwa literally same is happening with me!! But i wish they'll maybe understand! Stay strong xxx
Eakam Brar Stay strong we shall make it through :)
Mini Mistique Stan EXO Stan Chogiwa I dont know how old you are, but if youre old enough, dont even try to explain it to them, ttying to explain depression to someone who doesnt have it is like trying to explain the colour purple to a blind man. Take your own steps, see a pdoc on your own. If youre still young then I think you have a problem since the older mindset is still stupid that way and suddenly one day its too late and they look back and wonder why they didnt listen
Sanjay Ahuja My parents are doctors and my mom does know that I have muscle pain and numbness due to high stress and my severe mood swings are also a cause for stress but it gets really hard sometimes when even their tiniest thing ticks me off and i start arguing and crying bcz its not like i can control it my parents think i am rude n arrogant but u know what i am saying ?its all due to that. They even took me to 3 psychiatrists who also just dismissed the issue saying high stress and ' just exercise dont be lazy' like I want everyone to know its JUST NOT THAT its diff maybe only a little more understanding
Sanjay Ahuja plus i have no friends who i can talk about all my stuff with. i am so done with keeping everything bottled up my parents r so done with me too they dont understand n they think i have got everything so wtf is this stress everything is a mess n idk why m i typing all this pls ignore
I asked my parents about me, visiting a psychiatrist, they lost their shit.
you need to change your parents
Anvi Samanta lol
I think a psychologist would be better unless you have like..clinical depression. Some psychiatrists don't really care and just give pills. You need to learn how to think to get rid of it.. Save up and go on your own without telling them.. thats what I did
Hey Anvi, too much family drama can happen when we say such stuff. I totally get you - my cousin was in this space a few months back. But then we googled. There are a couple of websites now through which you can chat with psychologists and counselors online - so parents dont have to know. I can say this because my cousin benefited after a bad break-up - www.yourdost.com.
Abhilash M They actually say the same thing, it's more about money rather than solution.
And also they judge you on your face.
Thank you so much AIB for making this video. I've had clinical depression for 3 years now, and the awareness about it is much needed. I hope people understand and treat it like they treat any other illness. Thank you once again.
but I don't understand this desease. why can't a depressed person get over it eventually by forgetting the past?
Darshan Gabani .... Google dude... lol....
Darshan Gabani dude it's not something u can talk someone out of. People who have it are clinically sick. It's like saying ki fever kyon hai.
Darshan Gabani Bhai tu rehne de terese na ho payega 😂 Like the entire concept of the video was lost on you lol
Darshan Gabani Because the brain gets wired in a certain way and the person is stuck in a vicious cycle.
It sucks when people treat you like that. As shown in the video. It's sad, but it's the truth.
And yeah, you don't need to have had a fucked up childhood or some traumatic event happen to you in order to have depression. You could have had a perfectly normal upbringing with loving friends and family. Mental illness does not discriminate; it can hit anyone at any time. Your feelings are valid. Don't let anyone make you feel otherwise.
Well said
You've got the nail hard on its head. Well said. People invalidate the feelings and emotions of those suffering from depression, and it's downright cruel and condescending.
Ya I had a really normal childhood and still I am suffering from schizophrenia
u just wrote whati am unable to make people understand to date

True man .....
Well I've bipolar disorder, It's a mental disorder in which a person suffering goes through periods of extreme elation and extreme depression. I can relate to this video very well.. I got through the depression thingy by giving up on society. I have a different perspective about things than the society, so I always had trouble mixing up with people. I always tried to mix and got disappointed. And the suicidal thoughts.. well I'm a pretty straightforward nihilistic guy, I believe suicide would cease one's pain and suffering but your parents ( at least mine ) would never be able to forget the fact.. So as a nihilist I believe life and all the materialism is pointless but I cannot leave my parents to such tragedy and yeah let's be honest suicide is painful and requires constitution. So I said fuck society, I'm gonna do what I gotta do to sail my boat smoothly ( as an engineering student, I started studying). And yes, I'm a metalhead and rock and roll kinda guy, and the music helps tons. The source of my depression was why live a pointless life with materialistic greedy people who care about iphones and their vanity more than than the suffering of poor. Whatever the cause of your depression be, go meet a psychiatrist or psychologist, and believe me one day you'll get through it. The answer my friend is blowing in the wind.
Shubham Priyadarshi Yes typical bipolar signs. I dont know if it is any help but do feel free to watch my series of videos on "bipolar in India". I just hope they help. You are not alone

Good video. One thing that needs to be noted is that depression shouldn't be self diagnosed and it is difficult to accurately do it for others too. So yes, while we shouldn't make light of our own or of someone else's state, we should try and leave the diagnosis to an expert. What needs to be in place are general guidelines about how to handle situations where you see people getting isolated or having mood swings.
true
Utsav Bansal Extroverts get depression too!
No doubt about that.
Why can it not be self diagnosed if you can see the symptoms ? Just curious !
ROHAN DAHIYA Coz Depression isn't literally like Typhoid.
When AIB shows what depression is and, at the same time, acts as remedy. BRAVO AIB. :))
This video was shot in 2017.
Still hitting hard in 2020. #RIP
its not aib its THE GREAT AIB who doesnt make videos for just views but they want to make change
thanks AIB for this awakening video.....lately, I had been suffering from depression and I'm just of 15......my parents are like she's just a teenage mess or she's arrogant or too moody to handle... They just wants to deny the fact....and I couldn't call upon my 'friends' czz they will make the matter worse for me..... Moreover no one sees my vulnerable side where my mind thinks and does shitty things at night... They all just wanted to deny the fact at their best!!!!
How long does it take for you to get out of bed after waking up?
Dipanwita Das I request you to consult your school counsellor or a psychologist if you can to determine whether it's real depression so that you can heal accordingly.
Dipanwita Das go to your school counsellor asap. people WILL be in denial unless a psychologist confirms your condition
Chaynika Singh I don't think most school counselors diagnose depression. Get the counselor to speak to your parents about how you need help. Don't let it worsen. Try hanging out with your friends more, it will usually help distract you so you don't feel too Shitty all day
Anagha Ananth Dude? Didn't you watch the video?
Depression is a very complex disease. Many people are just bored so they term it depression, and gives a bad name to people who are really depressed because of a trauma. I’m glad I got help because I live in America

Depression is just one of the mental illnesses... there are many more.. educate yourself..help people.. seek professional help..
But also PLEASE DON'T ROMANTICISE ANY MENTAL ILLNESS.
It's not something to be proud of.. like tumhe pata hai iska matlab ye nahi ki tumhe honahi chahiye.. you could also be well-informed right?
But also it's nothing to be ashamed of.
The best thing you could do is just BE KIND TO EVERYONE. ☺

i don't really know if there is anything like "mental illness"(maybe u can google thomas szazs for more on this). i am a physicalist and to me its all physical illnesses. your brain is not independent of the rest of your body. case in point is how research is showing how ur gut is related to brain health. i am ok with drugs as long as it is consensual. there r no guarantees in life...it will just take a second (or less) for your own brain to malfunction. it could be just the water you drank from somewhere or a major accident. so think twice before judging people, because u can be on the receiving end. also remember the brain is capable of changing. so just because ur brain malfunctioned before doesnt mean it cant repair and be ok. be kind always!
"It's not something to be proud of..... but it's also not something to be ashamed of". Kehna kya chahti ho behna?
As someone who's been struggling with depression and anxiety, I cried watching this. I don't have words to thank AIB. This hit home so hard. I love AIB to the moon and back and this gave me another reason to. Thank you so much!

How can you treat depression?
1) tri cyclic antidepressants.
2) SSRI
3) recent studies shows mindful meditation works almost atpar with best pharmaceuticals.
4) and yes , jogging does help alot, so is going out and socializing.
I agree with all your points, but to someone like me who suffers from depression as well as anxiety, it is difficult to go out and socialize or to even jog without feeling uneasy. But I do agree that exercising really helps and if you suffer from anxiety, try to get some exercise at home if you can
8 years struggling with this, you guys are awesome for doing this, hope it pushes atleast a few people to react differently. Nobody ever says "it's all just in your leg, get over it" when you break a bone, high time people understood the brain and the soul is no different and can develop curable, yet, very REAL illnesses.
As a mental health professional, I must say this was a really good initiative to raise awareness on depression and the stigma surrounding it. It is a serious issue and has to be acknowledged and treated as one. It is not something to joke about or take lightly. You might never know and understand the darkness, despair and isolation that the person you advice to 'Get over it' is going through. So please, the least you can do is to lend a listening ear to the person and help them get the professional support they require.

Heartfelt thanks for this video AIB. Through efforts like these, to spread awareness, I feel hopeful. The mind is volatile, and a mental illness is thus very destructive. To everyone who believe they are suffering from depression, I urge you to have the courage to speak to trusted people about it and seek medical help, if needed. If you are reading this, have a good day.
Prashant Wason well said!
Thanks for your precious comment dear
Needed this video 4 years ago, it would have saved me a lot of pain. I had to explain everything million times (literally) with logical reasoning but so called educated dummies didn't even bother to change their perceptive about this issue, and i am/was suffering from OCD + social anxiety + depression. It f**ks you up and depending on your environment could get better or lot worse. Guys, take anti depressant and consult psychiatrist ASAP.
Clinical depression is not your typical mood swing and it needs treatment or you loose valuable time of your life which you can't recover if unchecked/untreated.
Thanks AIB and hope the new Mental health bill 2016 will make lives of mental disease patient better.
Wow.. Thank you very much for this awesome message. I have never watched AIB videos until before. I am subscribing today. Thank you for sharing this and understanding us. I have suffered depression for years but I was ashamed to say because i thought that I will be side-lined. I got medical help when i got obsessive thoughts of killing myself. Now I am on medical help but of course my childhood friend betrayed me, almost most of them think that I am crazy and I should be avoided. There are people who stopped talking to me because they think the same thing like I am crazy. It is a hush-hush matter for all of them. Trust me guys , I have at least heard everything 10 times each from different people and the generalization of course is so well put. Whoever watching this, Please stop generalizing or bullying us , just because we are having depression doesn't make us inhumane or crazy people. To me the maximum one can do is stand by us without saying any of these shit. Thank you!
4:12 Is he Naveed?

I really liked this video on a very personal note as I'm also suffering from generalized anxiety disorder, depression and a bit of OCD, and even the most educated people around me believe that there is no such thing as depression or any other mental illness for that matter and I have always laughed at their ignorance... Really there is just no point arguing with them.... But I liked this video... Thanks for making this... This will definitely help a lot of people!

Thank you AIB for such an awesome and relatable video.. I hope people soon realize that depression is also an illness and it has to be dealt with properly. Everyone thought she is a teenager and this is normal, she's just a little aggressive.. I hope this video spreads as much awareness as much it can. 😊💝
Oh so this was first cameo of Naveed on A.I.B..!!
This one really hit the nail on the head. Depression, as well as depressed people are mostly misunderstood my a largely ignorant society which believes it's helping when its actually not. We're faced with a constant barrage of people telling us to make time for ourselves, do what we love and how its just a phase and stuff. Ugh, if only people knew. Hats off, guys. Please keep bringing in more videos like this one.
I am still unable to convince people around me that I have depression...

Chārvāk why are you being so insensitive? Sufiya you should try and get some professional help, you won't have to convince them :) Stay strong.
You don't need to convince people. The same way you don't need to convince people when you have typhoid. Seek professional help. There is a reason why they are known as "professionals". Also, don't pay attention to people who tell you wear a locket in order to cure depression, and also don't give a fuck about people like this Chārvāk (An obviously certified asshole).
please don't be in a bid to convince people, just seek a professional help. it's your life and you have full right to come out of the depression so don't wait for the day when people will get convinced that you actually need some help.

Keep it up AIB! This is a great step towards educating people about depression.
Oh my God. This brings back memories!! Very well meaning folks told me to take up an activity or go out in the sun and run or don't think you are depressed or just plainly suck it up. Wow, thanks guys, I didn't know that!
What I really needed back then was a close friend who was there for me. Depression put me at a stage where I thought nobody loves me. But a few people regularly called me making me break this thought. I eventually came out of that and am leading a pretty decent life. I know that as my mental positivity shows up on my physical health.

Great job AIB. Even though a large part of this generation has greater awareness and understanding regarding mental illnesses, I feel getting the point across to our parents who are from a generation where anything outside the "norm" was stigmatised is a big challenge.
I'll be sure to show this video and have this conversation with my close and immediate family.
Looking forward to more creative brilliance from you guys!
Also kudos to you to take out the copyrights of this video. Thanks :)

Wow what a brilliant script !!! And you all are fab actors
They literally helped many
Wwowah !
I liked this. Specially the description, where everything is no clearly mentioned, seems a good amount of research and care has been taken . :)
I appreciate their efforts and all the things they said in the video are so true and irritating at the same time. People don't understand what you are going through. They just give irrelevant suggestions w/o understanding much of how a person with depression feels.
sharma ji kya kahenge?
Zeher Launda they missed this line 😂😂
Beta ye depression vepression kuch nai hota
priyansh sharma Wo Depression ki baat kar raha hai, bhooto ki nahi!
+Rajni Kaur that was a sarcastic answer to a sarcastic question. take a chill pill.
Much needed video.
Great job AIB👌🏻
This needs to go viral!
5 years ago when I first saw this video I appreciated it as I knew mental health is an important ...but now five years later when I have been fighting with it every day for the past 3.5 years.... the video feels relatable.

Thanks guys for making such videos that are easily approachable to people!!! People now a days really need to know!!! Thanks for the links as well
Hey AIB, I just wanted to take this moment and thank you for making this video and especially the message you conveyed at the end, "We have not copyrighted this video so please share it as much as you can."
After the sad demise of *Sushant Singh Rajput* , I decided to share this video to set an example for everyone that depression, suicidal tendecies, etc. need to be dealt with love, affection, care and proper understanding. I feel conveying a message through comedy skits and fun loving entertainment videos is a much better idea than watching news channel or reading millions of stories, posts or whatever uploads that will eventually disappear within 2 or 3 days after the incident.
This video has stayed with me ever since it was uploaded(back in 2017). Although I haven't suffered from depression but I still understood the message really well. I learnt so much from this video and I hope the world does too.
Thank you AIB.
hitting the right thing here! hats off! 😇
such a wonderful take on depression. witty . Awesome .
THANK YOU for making this video!!
i haven't seen a better message on the importance of understanding depression that this one.hats off to AIB for this work.
4:06 Naveed has had some glow-up, man
Reading the comments it seems like almost everyone suffers from depression...but unfortunately hardly anyone speaks about it in real life because of the social stigma against it
AIB, thank you so much for making this video!! It's so incredible to see these issues being brought to light. I've grown up in the US, but many of our NRI parents still have difficulty understanding that mental illness is real. Is there any chance you would be willing to add English subtitles to this video? I would love to share this with friends here in the US, but many of my friends don't know Hindi. It would be a huge help, and we would be able to spread it around widely here. Hope this is possible! Thanks!
Very good and responsible video from AIB!. Though in sarcasm they have driven through a very crucial point through the thick brains of all! Good Job AIB ! i will definitely download and share this video !
Thank you so fucking much for doing this :'D
Sometimes I feel like only you guys get me.. no one around me understands. Everyone is calling this 'drama' and 'natak'.. because of these allegations, I often confront myself that I am overreacting, I'm fine, or that I'm lazy and making excuses. I'm tired of hearing 'Arre, logon ko cancer hain voh bhi toh lad rahe hain! ' and 'Bhagwan ne kya nahi diya tujhe'. I hate this.
Thanks a lot for this videos. The support and passion you guys show towards this issue is commendable :')
I Love you all so much. ^.^
FINALLY! Finally you guys made a video concerning mental health awareness. It means a lot to me personally as I myself try my best to educate the people around me about the same. As a person suffering from a few mental health issues myself, I feel the dire need of awareness and riddance of the ridiculous stigma in our society.
You go get a test done when a green mosquito bites you but don't feel like even looking at a "Brain Doctor". Wah, wah, kya baat hai bhai...you're a whole new level of hypocrisy.
Cheers. #MentalHealthIsImportant#DepressionIsAnIllness
You just hit the right nail AIB.I really appreciate the video as well as the research in the description!
Thank you so much guys. This is wonderful. I will upload it on my channel.
