I am finding Eva Gabor to be the best anti-depressant ever known to mankind...never laughed out loud so much in any given 30 minutes in my life besides these five precious episodes with Hugh O'Brian...so I have to point out that this is the 1967-06-06 episode and the other one so-labeled is the 06-07 ep...important b/c we only have five days of this incredible synergy between host and guest stars...no way anyone should miss a minute for confusion...so enjoy these everyone, as much as I am!
That's true...when she didn't know a word at all she would immediately blurt, "What's THAT?", but with a likeable air...however I'm not sure if she ever returned...everyone seemed to take the situation in stride...and Eva did seem to do well for her contestants in the end...she did want to do her best for them, that seems obvious, which more than compensated...she seemed to even want it more than them at times...
Thought Hugh O'Brian was a bit condescending to that poor marine when he kept barking out cap, cap, cap instead of giving the poor guy another clue. It was obvious he'd hit a mental block and needed another clue.
I wonder, if for "Train" if one could use the clue "Choo-choo." At 1st glance it might sound or seem like a hyphenated word so might be thrown out. I suppose the Golden clue would be the word "Locomotive……" said in a leading way like the dude who tried the word "Freight."
Michael N. seems the slightest bit nervous in an old-fashioned geeky way...Hugh could have clued with "Western..." for omelette...he didn't seem to give it the full Marine effort there....
For "Rehearse" I don't think Eva should feel too upset about not using "Practice" as a clue because think about it… The contestant probably would have said "Doctor" (or "Law?" :-)
I often look away and just listen to see if I can guess the word. When he started with "Snake"...Sheesh! It would have taken me over an hour to come up with "Spider."
@@barbarajeffers5563 I hadn't thought of that but that could be the perfect clue! Analogous to if someone were trying for "Horse" one might say "Equine."
@@barbarajeffers5563 I don't think most people knew the word arachnid back then. I think most people just said spider or bug or insect, not realizing insects have six legs.
The one thing that Allen Ludden did that I did not like was in the "Lightning Round" he was always trying to coach them and thell them what to do. That would mess me up more. He should have kept quiet and let them play..
It seemed as though as the future Password shows that came onto our TVs,the tighter the rules got, especially on Password Plus where you couldn't use opposites and gestures.
Eva's accent was so thick it was hard to understand her sometimes. That Lightning Round can't be slow playing, but I'm glad the marine won that with Eva.She needs to learn more hominimes and synonymes, to play the game.LOL.
Easier said then done as an armchair 2020 quarterback… But for "Omelette" maybe the 3 clues "Eggs," "Ingredients" and "Collection" (then if necessary the word "cheese").
I think Michael probably is a disc jockey just like Les Nesmann on WKRP in Cincinnati. He probably did the farm report. I can't see him playing rock and roll music.
Hugh was absolutely pitiful in the last lightning round. Snake for spider, Really? How about recluse + Brown; Widow +Black, Tarantula; then Green for Berret? That one is tough but there are better clues; Tenor for Bass.
Yes, it is cheating. In any other situation (with another player) Allen would never have assisted in that way. Just because English was not her primary language doesn’t mean she gets special treatment: why have her on the show if she needs help? I think her comedic value was why she was a guest on the show; she was amusing.
It's amazing how wonderful and classic Eva Gabor was - absolutely a wonderful icon!

She is adorable!
Again Ms Gabor steals the show - and hilariously
for sure, she's so damn entertaining
Hysterical she was even with her Hungarian language barrier !
"Stop the clock!'
"Don't stop nothing!"
LOL
Yes I loved that part I lost it haha
She did so well on the lightning round. Her English is much better than my Hungarian, that's for sure.
Eva gabor just as charming as she is super pretty &gorgeous
Eva - Best guest ever on Password
Eva's delightful here
I love the audience. It looks like a day out for the nursing home.
EVA GABOR......nothing else to say.
Eva is authentic and I'm told was really nice she's very real
That's true...when she didn't know a word at all she would immediately blurt, "What's THAT?", but with a likeable air...however I'm not sure if she ever returned...everyone seemed to take the situation in stride...and Eva did seem to do well for her contestants in the end...she did want to do her best for them, that seems obvious, which more than compensated...she seemed to even want it more than them at times...
So beautiful was Eva: more so than her sister
Eva was so funny! And her tent dress was pretty and stylish.
🐩 I LOVED when Ava hugged the Marine !! 🏅 So funny. Luckily he could almost read her Hungarian mind !! Blessings from California. 🌹
Everybody is always so stumped by the word “cheese.” It throws them every time. Nobody just says “cheddar.”
Rest In Peace, Allen Ludden, Eva Gabor and Hugh O'Brian. Overdue condolences to the families for your loss. 😔💐💐💐
Eva was so adorable. So innocent and honest, would loved to have know her.
Thought Hugh O'Brian was a bit condescending to that poor marine when he kept barking out cap, cap, cap instead of giving the poor guy another clue. It was obvious he'd hit a mental block and needed another clue.
Eva’s just playing her own game, but she’s so much fun! ...though I’m not sure why she’s wearing a hospital gown!
I'm brave enough to admit that I remember when such blouses were to be seen streets of Manhattan way....
it does look like that, surprising, she's usually so well-dressed
I love Eva
Eva, Zsa Zsa, and Charo became rich pretending they didn't speak English
Of course, all of the players were fluent in English--but I wonder how often they were *not* native-speakers--such as the gorgeous Eva Gabor!
Love Eva's hair. Did this hairstyle exist before her ?
I'm exhausted......watching her......now I know why she married so many....
She was married five times and Zsa Zsa was married seven times ! Wow ! 🐩
@@marycook1644 zsa zsa married 9 times
@@mikieanthony777 WOW, you are right ! I always ask Siri , this time she said nine ! I think that maybe she said seven before ?!
Eva is gorgeous !
BRING AVA BACK SHE IS SO BESUTIFUL SMART & HUMOROUS💘💜💝💛👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👌😆😅🤣😂🤣😅
Eva is so hilarious, and it looks like she's wearing a Hospital Gown. Sorry, but that's what it looks like.
❤ eva gabor & her gorgeous looking sister zsa zsa gabor

Daddy? In another episode choo-choo was used and was disqualified...

For "Rehearse" I don't think Eva should feel too upset about not using "Practice" as a clue because think about it… The contestant probably would have said "Doctor" (or "Law?" :-)
For "Spider" after "Legs" as a clue the follow-up should have been "Eight" :-)
Or he could have just said "tarantula" or "black widow" or "arachnid"...those clues were terrible!
I often look away and just listen to see if I can guess the word. When he started with "Snake"...Sheesh! It would have taken me over an hour to come up with "Spider."
“Arachnid” is a clue that I expected to hear!
@@barbarajeffers5563 I hadn't thought of that but that could be the perfect clue! Analogous to if someone were trying for "Horse" one might say "Equine."

For "Factory" I might have ventured "Plant" (especially after workers was uttered)
Hugh O'Brien looks like Alan Thicke.
How on God’s earth did those people guess the words from Eva’s clues????😂
4:02 The perfect clue in 2024 would be BIDEN.
Good one. 😆
Cheese~American, Swiss, Cheddar

Go Arkansas! 😄
Hugh won two games and Eva won one game.
We could do a drinking game in which we take a shot of whiskey every time Michael takes off or puts on his glasses.
It seemed as though as the future Password shows that came onto our TVs,the tighter the rules got, especially on Password Plus where you couldn't use opposites and gestures.
And plus you got buzzed after five seconds....no free rides here, Jack
Probably obvious to most people but "Dream"… Then "Hat" then "MILITARY…"
Eva's accent was so thick it was hard to understand her sometimes. That Lightning Round can't be slow playing, but I'm glad the marine won that with Eva.She needs to learn more hominimes and synonymes, to play the game.LOL.
Too late now cause she's dead
Ava not Eva!
Easier said then done as an armchair 2020 quarterback… But for "Omelette" maybe the 3 clues "Eggs," "Ingredients" and "Collection" (then if necessary the word "cheese").
Honestly, Mike wasn't too with it.
Western could be a clue. Or folded.
@@maryspencer4975 I suppose… But I might be concerned especially with her TV show how "Western" could go in another direction :-)
I'd have used the word French, once it was clear it was an egg dish.
I think Michael stole his look from Woody Allen.
I think Michael probably is a disc jockey just like Les Nesmann on WKRP in Cincinnati. He probably did the farm report. I can't see him playing rock and roll music.
that's what I thought when he came out, a young Woody Allen.
Hugh was absolutely pitiful in the last lightning round. Snake for spider, Really? How about recluse + Brown; Widow +Black, Tarantula; then Green for Berret? That one is tough but there are better clues; Tenor for Bass.
Two Marines, one has to describe "shingle." But they're on national TV. I know what they're thinking.
Sheep~Baaaaa
Mike, is acting like he’s on something.
Is this an act, or is she really that ignorant?
English is not her language.
Isn't it cheating for Allen to tell Eva what the definition of 'snuggle' is?
no, because she genuinely isn’t trying to cheat. She just doesn’t know the words.
English wasn't her native language.
Yes, it is cheating. In any other situation (with another player) Allen would never have assisted in that way.
