Topeak MTX Bike Racks are awesome. They have a special proprietary quick release track where there MTX bags slide on/off and lock easily. Makes for quick install and removal of your trunk/bag. Here I show how I made a custom wooden plate where just about any bag or box can be fastened and so you can have the same functionality, quick on/off. - Навчання та стиль

I have made several of these plates, and Tracks using a 3 denominational printer with nylon/carbon filament. It is awesome and easy. Depending on the application the plate does not need to run the full length of the track.
What printer do you use for nylon? Can you share tips? Do you have any videos. I promised myself to spend decent money on a 3D printer once nylon printing was fool-proof. Thank you.
@@motleypixel Currently we are using a creality cr-10s pro, with micro swiss hot end modifications. Nylon Carbon fiber is very abrasive to all of the extruder drive gears, bowden tube and nozzles.
You will invest a considerable amount of time and materials to learn proper printing techniques such as speed, hot end temperatures, and flow rates.
Before i print with Carbon nylon I always print with cheaper PLA filaments to prove the model design is up to the proper specs and functional. I also use an older Olympus microscope with a calibrated micrometer eye and objective to check things like nozzle wear, overlaps and layer adhesion, and other machine settings. Using a microscope is not really a necessary tool. Yet I use one to increase the models strength and to check for wear. In my opinion a microscope is a valuable tool.
Whatever printer you purchase you will most likely need to make Hot-end modifications to handle abrasive materials.
Also there are other kinds of filaments that you can use that will work good for modeling the Topeak modifications.
I just happen to like nylon carbon fiber due to its strength and finish look.
Once you learn 3D printing, modeling and printing is an easy additive manufacturing/modification process.

@@motleypixel There are way to many variables just in the print settings to obtain a fool proof printer for most printers.
However there are other entry level printers like the up mini2 made by Teirtime. It is a very easy to operate printer. This was the first printer i bought for my son when he was 13. The next day he was printing fidget spinners and selling them at school. The up mini2 when using teirtime filaments makes nearly all of the necessary settings pre-set for you. thus making 3D printing much easier. unfortunately the up mini 2 has a very small build volume. teirtime offers other models with different build volumes.
There are other makes of printers available that make printing easier yet they tend to get pricey. Honestly i think you should do some more research on the subject before making a decision.
manufacturing products in your workshop is very rewarding, especially when modeling complex designs.

This is a bit late but here is a design improvement. Currently you end the base plate under the locking block. If you extend the base plate a half inch or so further forward you'll have a comfortable push area to remove it rather than pushing against the sharpish edge of the lock block.
Very nice solution. I have been trying to buy just the Quick Release Adapters to install on my own bags, coolers & crates as needed but it is not easy to find a company willing to sell them without their own bags attached.
Slightly bend over rail at the front which will stop board from sliding too far forward or a couple drops of epoxy glue in the track will work as well.
