The only 2 track is from immediately north of Balcome Tunnel to Preston Park (4 through Haywards Heath). Everything else is 4 track on both routes from Victoria & London Bridge, plus a 5 track bit from Windmill Bridge Junc. to South Croydon. Full track plans are available, like I've got one done by Quail Map Co. though it's somewhat out of date now. To get a full picture of how trains run, get the secondhand Working Timetables from ebay. The Brighton Line is a fascinatingly complex operation due to number of trains, some flat junctions, and freights mingling with the intense passenger service. There's nothing quite like it outside the UK. Even the line into Paris Nord (busiest station in Europe) is much simpler to run (lots of tracks & no flat junctions).
It’s amazing how you can make your own railways from scratch. Really good. Keep up the good work Ashley.
Ashley it’s me Kawsar from bpso! I didn’t expect you to have a successful yt channel, I’ve just subscribed :)
It is four track as far as Three Bridges (one stop beyond Gatwick Airport) and two track beyond. Further at Coulsdon South (Smitham) two of the track divide and go through separate tunnels (Hooton Tunnel and Quarry Tunnel - fast trains use Quarry Tunnel and miss Earlswood and Redhill). It was the first electrified line by Southern Railway (Pre-Nationalisation) and carried the first multiple unit Pullman train twenty eight years before the Midland Pullman.
Another great video! I'm looking forward to the next one
Gatwick express runs from Victoria to Gatwick Airport every 15 minutes and every other service continues (usually non-stop) from Gatwick to Brighton. I have taken the GX all the way and there is a noticeable difference in the speed of that from Brighton to Gatwick Airport in comparison to a Southern or Thameslink service but I agree with you on the point about not using it from Victoria station
Class 377 run from Victoria to Brighton. Class 387 are Gatwick express. Class 700 are Thameslink. Class 717 plus others are Northern. All GTR
Great Northern you mean but yes all 4 operators are all managed by Govia Thameslink Railway.
Marylebone! Then you can build the Bakerloo underground to Waterloo and the Chiltern line to Birmingham.
Or Euston, HS2 or WCML to Birmingham and a bit of Northern to Waterloo or a bit of Victoria to Victoria.
You should really check out the carte metro website. I can't put a link here so just search on google ' Carte Metro London '
It shows you where the stations are, how many tracks the line has, and so much more.
The Quarry Lines Ashley
Yep which avoids Redhill.
every other Gatwick express trains go to Brighton so 2 per hour hour plus 2 southern trains to victoria, 2 to Bedford and 2 to Cambridge so 4 to victoria and 4 to London bridge. also Brighton is a city known as Brighton and hove not a town and the football team play at Falmer now but the layout is mostly right
Purley has 6 platforms and you also forgot the caterham branch line
Ashley. The Brighton line has 4 tracks from victoria to three bridges, and then a dual track to Brighton. Iain
Looks like some offline rework may be in order then. Cheers Iain
@@ashleyrabot No problem haha
could you please show us just a clip of how all your lines works, whit the trains on.
8:50 Hence why when I took a Thameslink service. Fast I have to add. Was why I didn't see Redhill. And also It was going overhead all the way
There is NO single track anywhere on the Brighton Line
.Why are you trying to re-draw the Network Rail map? It is all on "OpenRailwayMap" (amongst other publications), with individual lines shown if you increase the scale sufficiently
Love the videos. How do I get the game
It's on steam as early access so just go on there
How do you get this? Is there a mobile app?
It is on Steam which you can quite easily download!
