Nice tip mate, since I started to watch youtube videos entirely in english, I was able to improve my listening skills. One thing I notice is easyer to me understand people who have english as a second language than people who is native speaker, specially british people. Btw, I'm on my way to learn french at this moment. See ya.
I also learned a bit of French a couple months ago, but without bragging, it was a little bit too easy because I'm a native Italian speaker, and French shares like 90% of its vocabulary with Italian. I wanted a bit more of a challenge so I went back to Chinese.
Give it some time, if you do it a couple of hours each day you will become pretty good in around a year (as long as you actually understand what is being said at least a little bit; if you have no idea what people are saying you should go back to learning some vocabulary and grammar and then try again)
