For the few that might be wondering:
After being blacklisted, Anneliese Uhlig initially moved to Italy and worked as an actress there.
She later became an American citizen and worked as a journalist for over two decades (including reporting from the White House).
The also worked as a producer in theater and held university lectures.
In the 70s and 80s, she regularly appeared in german TV series and -movies.
She died two months before her 99th birthday in 2017.
I'd say she thoroughly proved Goebbels threat of her never having a career in the movies wrong.

The important thing about Goebbels philosophy of Propaganda is that he was adamant that all propaganda be based on true events. And this is where the connection to Fake News becomes crucial. The major difference today is that instead of having one Big Brother we have millions of little propagandists for every cause. And finding out what actually happened gets harder and harder.

It tugs at the back of our minds. Yet, it's so simple! The power of editing is the most effective tool on a simple mind. It was also the perfect climate in Germany to break out such radical rhetoric since they were getting manhandled by the Treaty of Versailles mixed with the Depression, then the situation was made worse when they started printing money with no financial backing. Germans were suffering and wanted someone to blame, and the Nazis gave them their scapegoat. Goebbels was a master manipulator, and knew exactly how to rile up a good old fashioned blood frenzy. He might have mixed the von Rath murder with the Reichstag fire, which although it was real, the guy who was murdered for it was not guilty. The fire was orchestrated by Nazis to give Hitler an excuse for the emergency powers & martial law. Later, they used a ruse with Nazis in Polish uniforms destroying an independent radio station near Polish border, so they killed two birds with one stone: a) got rid of an independent radio station and b) got their excuse to invade Poland. Bush later just flat out lied that Saddam was personally responsible for 9/11 when he knew it was bin Laden and other Saudi extremists, and of course most of Al Qaida and IS terrorism has been funded from Saudi Arabia, and the extremist Imams in Europe are Saudi trained. And you accept all Soviet "investigations" as gospel?
First, there are no witnesses on record as to who lit the fire.
Second, Lubbe was found in the building unconscious, clearly at least drunk as hell, and unable to account for the events.
Third, the Soviets read the documents relating to the case and said they thought Lubbe _probably_ was guilty.
Van der Lubbe was a _former_ Dutch communist, which might have motivated him to move to Germany where fascism was clearly on the rise. That they even found out he had been a member of Dutch communist party tells me he was a convenient patsy. Nazis were devious and full of crazy conspiracy theories, so it's not far fetched to think Lubbe fulfills their desire to put someone in the frame for the fire. I don't think that the fire was not intended to destroy the building, after all it would have been difficult to identify Lubbe if he had been found burnt to crisp in the fire. DNA testing was 60 years in the future. That he was a _foreigner_ was also very convenient. After all, it fits perfectly into "Ausländer raus" (foreigners out) ideology. Just like Drumpf today, Hitler had a primary enemy in the beginning: foreigners. It was their fault that Weimar republic was in trouble, just like "immigrants" are blamed for imaginary crimes and supposed hardship. Apparently "Mexicans" are the cause of fiscal troubles in states where there practically none. All of the white Americans are immigrants as much as Hispanic Californians who are descendants of people who lived in the area when it was won from Mexico in a war. But in that sense, all problems in the wider society in the US are immigrants' fault.
Van der Lubbe's "confession" then. I doubt he volunteered his confession. There were lots of Nazis in German police force, like there are neo-fascist elements inside practically all US police departments today. Fascists and other authoritarian people are drawn to law enforcement, because that gives them a chance to exercise authority over others, often without check.
I grant that it's _possible_ van der Lubbe lit the fire but he's just a little bit too convenient a culprit for the crime that actually made Hitler dictator for life. I'm not fully convinced that he was guilty. I think no jury would convict van der Lubbe in an American court if his defence lawyer were awake, because there's plenty of holes in the prosecution's case. In Scotland they have a third verdict of _not proven_ which leaves the case open, which avoids double jeopardy in case new evidence comes to light after trial.
My verdict for van der is *not proven* and it would require more evidence to convince me.

It isn't very historical. He cites treatment of Polish Jews by the Nazis as cause for dishevelment when the film was released prior to war with Poland. He also claims Herschel Grynszpan never assassinated Ernst vom Rath, which he did, while citing the wrong year for the event anyhow. Also he claims Hitler told Goebbels and his wife to give it a 3 month shot while in reality the period was closer to a year.
Additionally there are wild guesses about "jealousy" regarding superior literary talent while the primary library whose books was destroyed was that of the Institut für Sexualwissenschaft, which was by no stretch a literary outlet. It was a sexual psychology research institution that wrote about transgenderism, homosexuality, and other sexual subcultures that the Nazis abhorred.

One thing I take issue with is actually a single sentence "The German invasion of Russia was their downfall because the German army couldn't handle the Russian winter." While this is in part true, the Soviets were having the same problems as the German army and barely handled them any better. While the cold slowed them down, it also slowed the Red Army down just as much. If all Russia had going for it was the cold, then Germany would have handily won. However, ultimately the Red Army was able to defeat the Germans in battle, which is the main cause of Germany's defeat in Russia, had Germany been able to defeat Russia in a pitched battle then Russia would have lost, winter or no winter.

Lots of really heartfelt songs about the war.
I'm no supporter of the SU but I'm an anarchist communist who lost great grand relatives who tried to defend us from fascism, and I'm eternally grateful to the soldiers who fought fearlessly for their motherland and Europe as a whole. Never forget

The winter's effect on equipment was similar, however the German soldiers were not provided with winter clothing, while the Russians were. Also, German supply lines were longer, and winter slows that.
But you are right, it was not all due to weather, US lend-lease was a major factor. The US gave the Russians a huge amount of equipment, 500,000 Jeeps and trucks, 12,000 armored vehicles including 7,000 tanks and 11,500 aircraft, and 1.75 million tons of food. Food was very scarce in Germany. Would have been in Russia too.

Sounds familiar any celebrity that’s is a vocal Trump supporter seems to get black listed today in 2019. And the MSM all say the same key phrases and report on the same thing with the same point of view with guests who support their political points of view.

This might be weird but I'd be really interested in hearing/seeing the screaming match between Goebbels and Hitler. Two maniacs yelling at each other about relationship woes.
