I guess it has to do with the lyrics, a song could bore us out easily when we memorise the lyrics completely. ARR and IlayaRaja were very fortunate to have such legendary poets like Kanadasan, Vairamuthu and Thamarai, that they were able to give us such ever green songs till date. Those lyrics were hard to memorise easily so we tend to revisit to get hold of the lyrics again and again. Anirudh on the other hand had lyrics for his songs that was so colloquial in nature. We were able to memorise Selfie pulla so easiy that we did not revisit it more often. While the same Anirudh gave us a masterpiece called Neeyum Naanum from Nanum rowdy that was written by Thamarai which still sounds so poetic, we tend to revisit the song and try to get hold of the lyrics thus making it an evergreen.
I don't have answer for that but he has a potential for getting a national award of any director perfectly use him or he gets a perfect script like jersey. Because many of the averge films were saved because of his background scores.
