We will need him to do just that, I have been a Furst fan since he got here I would like to see him continue to give us a boost off of the bench and contribute both rebounds and points.
Now may be a good time to repeat what Brian mentioned during some 2024-25 preseason comments- Purdue has a great big target on their backs, every team they face will be looking for a quality win for NCAA tournament. Purdue may be feeling that pressure as well as self imposed pressure to live up to expectations- that kind of pressure can really mess with your mind as well as performance on the court. Hang in there Boilermakers- and thanks Brian for the game summary and analytics.
It’s going to be hard for any single player outside the “main 3” to have scoring impact bc it’s going to take an inordinate number of trips down court to get TKR attempts in/near the paint & touches for Smith to play “ones”. Hard for Colvin & Heide to contribute when the two most athletic guys in the team are standing in the corner or standing around watching Smith impress the commentators. There are two 6’10 players, one young, one veteran that are working hard to rebound but get their shots blocked, standing under the basket. Hard to see a +18win season unless Smith averages 30pts-15asst, TKR 15pts-10rebs-5asst & Loyer 20pts.
If Cam and Myles continue to produce combined numbers like 0 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist in 36 total minutes, this team finishes in the bottom half of the Big Ten and gets a double-digit seed. They probably won't, but their performance isn't trending in the right direction at the moment.
Why don’t Colvin and Heide attack close outs? That’s literally all that needs to change from an offensive perspective? Draw fouls and get easier buckets…Please ask…thanks!
That’s a fair observation, but where are the rebounds, steals, assists, etc that don’t need a “play room n for them”? These guys have disappeared and it’s a major concern.
Furst had impact tonight. Rebounds were a problem and he helped steady the ship.

i wish he'd put as much effort into finishing as he does his elf videos

Coaches gott run plays for more players than just 3

It doesn’t look like Painter runs any plays for them. Don’t think he has a clue how to involve front court in offense. Tell me otherwise.
Front court or back court?
@ ?? Starting back court scored 51 pts, 15 assists, 8 rebounds. Starting front court, aside TKR, scored 0 pts, 0 assists, 1 rebound (albeit in half the minutes). I think it’s obvious, no?
Otherwise.

“play run for them”
