Your lucky with no snow, it's horrible when your connecting a heater and it's going down the back of your neck lol. Thanks again, You take care and stay safe. Have a great Christmas and New Year mate. 2021 has to be better than 2020. Terry.
Hi Steve, thanks mate. It was bloomin cold I must say lol. I am well pleased with it, and so are the koi I think lol. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Take care and stay safe mate.
Crikey Terry, I didn't think it'd be snowing with you, all we have had is rain and wind, the heat pump looks a beauty. Should keep the Koi happy. You done well to get it fitted. Terry, I wish you and your other half have a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay Safe.
Hi Marty, Yes mate, we got it quite bad. The temp was -2c by the time I got it up and running. The heat pump I've got is said to be one of the best on the market at the moment. I'm very pleased with it. I think the koi can't make out why the water is so warm and I still have the covers on lol. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Take care and stay safe and warm mate. Thanks, Terry.
Morning Terry, another good one. I am saving up for one now after watching you. So hopefully ready for next winter. Thanks for all the info this year, stay safe and Happy Xmas to you and your Family, cheers M8 Simon
Hi Simon, thanks mate. When your ready to buy one let me know, and I can help mate. I must say after using element heaters, I can't believe how cheap it is to run. I will post update videos so you all know the cost of running one. You take care mate and you and your family have a great Christmas and New Year. Terry.

Hi Myron, thank you, really appreciated. Good to hear you enjoy the videos. You take care and you and your family have a really great Christmas and a happy New Year. Terry.
Cheers for all the videos you’ve done this year Terry, I’ve enjoyed everyone. Looking 4ward 2seein how the heat pump copes over winter👍 Take care an hope u and the family have a blinding Christmas&new year. Happy ponding mate🐟

Hi mate, thank you. I must say I love it. I can't believe just how economical it is. Their not cheap to buy, but well worth it. I totally recommend them. Have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year mate, to you and your family, Terry.
Very well done getting the ashp up and running so quick after delivery Terry, especially with the weather the way it is, and glad you like it, did worry me a bit when we were waiting for the fan to cut in showing the steam exiting and heard a racket, then remembered you said builders were next door lol 😁
Hi mate, and thank you. It was a bit of a challenge in that weather lol. When I was editing the video I thought, I hope they don't think that's the ashp lol. How you getting on with your ashp? Take care and stay safe. Merry Christmas and have a great New Year mate, Terry.
Hi mate, and thank you. That's right mate, it will be interesting to see the cost. I've got the pond up to 15c now, so it will just be holding it there. The heater is a 9Kw inverter type. Have a great Christmas and new year mate. take care, Terry.
Great video Terry and very well done mate, great job especially in that awful weather, looks a lovely bit of kit. Have a wonderful Christmas, take care my friend.
Hi Michael, thanks mate, it was bloomin cold lol. Got all the insulation done now, so I can take it easy for a while lol. You have a great Christmas and New Year mate, take care, Terry.
Hi Kent, and thank you. I must thank you for your support, it's really appreciated mate. Thanks again. Have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Fantastic Terry all that in a 30 min video must say I enjoyed it. festive greetings to you and your family and I can’t wait to see what you get up to next year. Have a good one mate Glenn
Hi Glenn, thanks mate. Don't think I can afford anything next year now I've bought that lol. Thanks again mate. You and your family have a great Christmas, and all the best for the New Year, stay safe mate, Terry.
Another great video! The heat pump looks like a winner. Keep us updated on its performance over the winter. Have a great Christmas Terry, best wishes Glen.
Thanks Glenn, It does seem a really nice unit and is working well. I will keep you updated on what happens and the cost mate. Thanks again, You take care and stay safe. Have a great Christmas and New Year mate. Terry.
Terry, I must say that I am envious of everything you have done for you pond and koi this year. What a lucky bunch of koi they are. I only wish the weather her in Oshawa, (about 30 KM outside Toronto) Ontario, Canada was like yours and I could add a heat pump to my pond but unfortunately that's really not an option. Overnight temps here, with wind chill are averaging - 10 to - 14 C and I already have about an inch of solid ice on the pond and winter hasn't officially started yet. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Looking forward to more great videos in 2021. Stay safe.
Hi K R, and thank you. Wow! I thought -2c was bad enough lol. I don't think I'd survive in those sort of temperatures. We do have a much better day here today at the moment. The sun is shining and it's 6c outside, so quite good here. I hope the winters not too bad for you mate. Roll on spring. You take care mate and you and your family have a great Christmas and New Year. Terry.
Evening Terry, that looks really smart I know they are big money but what you get back over the months in comparison to inline heater it pays for itself, really happy you got one bet your lady is too think of all the nights discussing the stat on the old one :) bit of a headache that was. thanks for sharing and showing the cost of running will get one if win lotto mate takecare
Hi Kev, thanks mate. It does seem a nice bit of kit. That Cloverleaf heater was a silly buy. Really don't know why I did that. Another seiner moment lol. Once again, thank you for your continued support mate. take care and stay safe mate. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year mate to you and your family, Have a good one. Terry.
Thanks Andy, and thank you for your support mate, I really appreciate it. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year mate to you and your family, Have a good one. Terry.
Them fish will be happy 😁. Really interesting upload mate. Hope we see you before xmas, but just incase. Have a great Christmas and happy new year. Many thanks for all your video and the the help and support you've given me this year. Stay safe, all the best Andy (and Bizley the dog)
Hi Andy, I hope they appreciate what we do for them lol. Thanks mate, and thank you for your support, it's really appreciated. Not sure I'll get another video out before Christmas now. I will try. You and Bizley take care and stay safe mate. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year mate to you and your family, Have a good one. Terry.
See this video pop up today on my phone and couldn't wait to see how you got on . What a cracking bit of kit there Terry. Redoing the pond next year going to see how you get on this winter with it and consider getting one myself. Stay safe mate and Merry Christmas to you and the lovley Mrs too mate 👍.
Hi Mark, and thank you. Must admit, I think I'm still thawing out lol. Boy it was cold. It does seem a really good unit. I'm really pleased with it. If you want to buy one at anytime, give me a shout, I might be able to help. Thanks again mate. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Hi Simon, thanks mate and thanks for your support, really appreciated. I will keep you up to date on how it all goes and the cost. Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year mate to you and your family. Terry..
Hello Terry. Another great video, very informative and very interesting. You’ve done a grand job of getting your heater set up so quickly and what a fantastic bit of kit. Christmas wishes and all the best to you and yours. Here’s Looking forward to the spring and the new pond season.🎄☃️🐟👍😊
Hi mate. and thank you, and thank you for your support. It's really appreciated. Like you say Roll on spring lol. Thanks again mate. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Hi Dave, thank you. and thank you for your support throughout the year mate, Happy Christmas and all the best for the New Year to you and your family. Terry..
What a brilliant video showing installation of your new ASHP, looks very nice and very neat installation, but I expected that from you Terry, you always do a very neat job, I am amazed how it has brought the pond temp up for the price, again very well done, which model ASHP did you get Terry, I assume the 9kw model, my pond is 2475 gallons, keep well and safe 👌👍
Hi Anthony, and thank you mate. really appreciated. I have the 9Kw Inverter type. It's a cracking heater and a lot quieter than I imagined. You have about the same sized pond as me, so you would need the same heater. If your interested give me a shout on pondfilters@gmail.com I might be able to help mate. take care, Terry.
Hi Phil, and thank you mate. I have to say I'm well pleased with it. I think the koi can't make out why the water is so warm and the covers are still on lol. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year. Take care and stay safe and warm mate. Terry.
Terry great job got my dream set at 15c had my inline 3kw on pond last year and now have two ASHP both dreams one on pond other on grow on but still a lot cheaper then my other 3kw inline one is that one you got a new inverter one which is a lot cheaper again great job on plumbing in Terry on a terrible day
Hi Barry, I must admit it was really cold lol. There's nothing worse than snow going down the back of your neck, when connecting a ashp up lol. Yes mate, it is the slow start, inverter type. I am impressed with it, I must say. £4.40 to take 2500 gallon of water from 9c to 14c in freezing conditions. Thanks again mate. Have a great Christmas and New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Terry, dont you go and get poorly now! Can't believe how cold it looks where you are. We are lucky in Hampshire still. Cold in the morning but not frozen yet. Unit looks good. I mentionned may be putting a heat source on the rebuild... but seeing as I always say no heating before November and none after April, I am now in the dog house!! :-) I've seen people running the cloverleaf by itself, pipe in the cloverleaf directly back into the pond and they seem to be able to maintain temp, but I dont know if the cost changes.. Are your pansees better now? Look after yourself - Have a nice Christmas and keep safe - Lau
Hi Lau, I get well wrapped up mate and don't stay out too long, thanks mate. We've had temps at -2c and not getting up much more during the day. If you want an ashp let me know mate, I might be able to help. My pond was at 9c and I slowly brought it up to 14c with the new heater, in freezing cold weather and it cost £4.40. That Cloverleaf heater cost me more than that for lifting the pond temp by 1.5 degrees in mild weather lol. I did take all the flowers of the pansies and started again, but what are coming now have no marks on them but are laying down lol. Must be the weather lol. Thanks again mate. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Great video again Terry. Its going to be interesting how much it costs to run over the next month. What ever it costs, its going to be cheaper than the 'cloverleaf'.
Hi mate and thank you. Your right mate, it's going to be interesting. I've taken my pond from 9c to 14c in freezing cold weather and it's cost £4.40. Now it's up to temperature it should be cutting out more, so like you say, it will be very interesting. The Cloverleaf cost me £5.00 in a night and the weather was mild lol. Take care mate, Terry.
Hi Terry. I have exactly the same ASHP as yourself and I have been using it for over a year now. It has always performed well and kept the pond within temperature and kept the Koi nice and warm. The only problem I have had was with the WiFi module. However HeatPump4Pools have been great and have just swapped my older WiFi module for one of the newer ones no charge! Just need to get it fitted and see how it does. I've always had great support from them.
Hi mate, It does look a nice bit of kit I must say. It's certainly running well at the moment, even though it's covered in ice lol. I was going to get the Wi-Fi for mine, but I did hear that they had problems with it, so I didn't bother. They are great guy's at Heat Pumps 4 Pools, very friendly and helpful. I'm well pleased with mine. Thanks mate, Have a great Christmas and New Year, and stay safe, Terry.
Hi Martyn, That's right mate, Took my pond from 9c to 14c in the freezing cold and cost £4.40. Should cost less now the ponds up to temp. The Cloverleaf heater cost me more than that, to lift the pond 1 degree in mild weather. If you do decide to get one, give me a shout mate. Thanks, and take care, Terry.
Hi mate, and thank you. I must admit I'm well impressed with it. I'm on R4 to 0.5 and R10 to 10. R12 is set to 0.0 but I don't think it works. It still seems to go 0.5 past the set temp. It is a bit annoying not knowing what the exact temp on the return water is. My output is only half a degree above the in temp at the moment, so got to do something about that. I must admit it was cold out there mate. -2c when I got it up and running lol. Have you got yours all sorted now? Terry.
@@Wrighty well I definitely confirmed that the thermostat only works in 0.5 increments even though in the settings you can change it in 0.1 increments which is annoying , I’ve just got to tweak the by pass a bit more to get that 2 degrees difference between inlet and outlet then I’m going to leave it for the rest of winter and see how it performs , I’ll watch with interest to compare how your running compared to mine , stay safe mate 👍👍
Same here mate, just got to tweak the bypass and finish the roof I'm putting on it, and that should be it for the rest of the winter hopefully. Take care and stay warm mate, Terry.
Hi Peter, thanks mate. You'll have to save up and treat yourself mate. Thanks again mate. Have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Hi mate, I got the lagging on eBay: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Climaflex-Foam-Pipe-Insulation-Pipe-Lagging-Wrap-Roll-Large-Stock-Range/324003259999 The through flow can differ. You adjust the flow using the bypass so the out flow is around 2c more than the inflow. The flow rate varies depending on the model. It does have a cut out if there's not enough flow. Hope this helps mate. Terry.
@@Wrighty I was reading it requires a water temp minimum of 8c otherwise it won't work as well. Is that true? What happens once you've brought up to temp. Do you still need to adjust the flow rate at that point considering you wouldn't have a 2c difference then would you?
Hi mate, I can give you a maintenance code and you can set the minimum temp to what you like. It's just that they don't recommend any lower as the pump does work harder below that. I have mine set to 10c as I can't think why I'd want to go below that with a pond heater. People who hold their pond temp around 8c are putting their koi at risk as that's not a good temp for koi and their in Aeromonas Alley. I wouldn't let my temp get below 13c. Once you have the flow through the heater, you then leave it because as with an inverter type, as you get near to the set temp, it will reduce power usage. Hope this helps mate. I will be out today, so if you have any more questions I'll get back to you tomorrow mate. Thanks, Terry.
@@Wrighty Oh, think I misread them. I wouldn't want to keep the water lower than 8c at all - I'd most likely be at minimum 13, but more read it as it won't start up if the water temperature itself is below 8, which I thought was pretty weird. Thanks Terry :)
Hi terry fantastic info in the video as always, I have a cloverleaf heater at the minute I’m looking at an ashp I have been looking at Remora inverter and also the Thermotec, I have a 9000 litre pond, so i presume I will need the 9kw? Also could you do another video after monitoring the heater for a few days on cost please be good to know. All the best merry Xmas Antony.
Hi Terry looking good mate, dam that’s going to be a lot cheaper to run, looks excellent mate, I wonder how much one would cost for a 7500 gallon pond, all the best mate regards Matt
Hi Matt, If your pond is covered you might get away with the 12Kw output at £2045.00 inverter. But Heat Pumps 4 Pools won't discount them as there selling as fast as they get them. Your best bet is to have a word with Dave or Nigel at Heat Pumps 4 Pools and they'll know exactly what you want. Tell them I told you to ring them. Then give me a shout and I can see if I can do you a deal. Here's the link to the heater: www.heatpumps4pools.com/product/thermotec-inverter-horizontal-heat-pumps-9kw-to-24kw/ Heat Pumps 4 Pools. PHONE: +44 (0)1268-206560 or 0844-8806749 EMAIL: enquiries@heatpumps4pools.com Let me know how you get on mate on, pondfilters@gmail.com thanks, Terry.
@@Wrighty hey bud. I'm seriously interested in grabbing one for mine at approx 24k litres, so think I'd need the 12kw. What sort of deal do you think can be done with it? On a side note, where did you get all your pipe lagging from? Is it just the 2 inch, or do you have 3/4 inch done as well? All the best, thanks! Ollie
Hi Ollie, drop me an email pondfilters@gamil.com and I'll help all I can mate. Here's all the info on the Thermotec Inverter heaters: www.heatpumps4pools.com/product/thermotec-inverter-horizontal-heat-pumps-9kw-to-24kw/
Hi Graham, With the fence so close to the ashp, it is difficult to get at the valves. So adjusting ball valves, because of how stiff they are, will be difficult. I have used all rubber couplings so I can easily change it if needed. I have a ball valve on the actual bypass, and adjusting that have got the 2 degree difference from the inflow to the outflow, so all seems ok at the moment. The gate valves are wide open so not in use. Thanks mate, take care and have a great Christmas and New Year, Terry.
Great video Terry would love to install one of these myself but not sure what they cost to buy, mine are just covered with poly carb and the temperature is about 10c. Do they come in different sizes as my pond is only just 2000gallons,?.
Hi David, The one I have is the smallest they do in the inverter range. I have 2500 gallon, so not much bigger than yours. I have the 9kw output, so it's well boss of the pond and they are the cheapest to run. Here's a link to all the info mate. Have a look and see what you think. If you need to know more, give me a shout on pondfilters@gmail.com www.heatpumps4pools.com/product/thermotec-inverter-horizontal-heat-pumps-9kw-to-24kw/ There are cheaper ashp's about, but this is a really good make. Thanks mate, Terry.
Would a similar unit be an alternative to heating a saltwater aquarium to 26.C? I’m currently planning a large system for the new house, it will be just over 3000L in total. I’m just wondering about alternatives to typical aquarium heaters as they are inefficient and prone to malfunction. Cheers
Thats a very very good question i cannot claim i have an answer but i dont see why it wouldnt work. Interested in an answer from someone with more knowledge that me.
I wouldn't think you need much in the way of heating marine tanks with the lighting and pumps they use and the room temp. My 100 gal system has a heater in the sump but never comes on. Chris
Well this was another consideration, as I could maintain the ambient temp of the room at say 24.C as it’s not in my sitting room. The lights will be all LED so not much heat given off them tbh. Was also weighing up a swimming pool heater as this also cools but..
Hi mate, It would do the job, and it also cools, but it would be a bit of over kill. Have a word with Dave or Nigel at Heat Pumps For Pools/Ponds they'll have all the answers. there really nice guy's. They'll know which unit would be the best for your job. Tell them I sent you (Terry Wright) PHONE: +44 (0)1268-206560 or 0844-8806749 EMAIL: enquiries@heatpumps4pools.com Terry.
Great video Terry, very informative. Send you an email in the morning ! Happy Christmas to you good Sir and your family, hope the Missus is well. Looking forward to a further update. Take care, stay safe.
i guess i’m quite lucky on the north west coast wales 🏴, hovering between 8-10 degrees and no snow ! brrrr looks cold there 😂 i’m not heated either after i took off my heater after i had my first electric bill 😳😳😂 those heater cheap too run ?
Hi mate, we have had it pretty cold here. The one I have is one of the cheapest to run and really well built. Have a look, here's the link: www.heatpumps4pools.com/product/thermotec-inverter-horizontal-heat-pumps-9kw-to-24kw/ It took my pond from 9c to 14c in the freezing cold, and cost £4.40. it should get cheaper now the pond's up to temperature. I will keep you posted on the running costs as we go along. Thanks mate, and take care, Terry.
I see that if I try to buy the same kind of product in Japan, it will be from Desjoyaux in France where they have a distributor. Which one is cheaper and better?
Hi Atsumi, Go and have a word with Heat Pumps for Pools/Ponds they will deliver any where in the world. Tell them Terry Wright told you to have a word with them and they will sort it out for you. They will also tell you which one you need for your pond size. Thanks, Terry.
Hi Dean, I went with the Thermotec 9Kw inverter. I must say I am really please with it. It took my pond from 9c to 14c in freezing cold weather for £4.40. which I think is good for 2500 gallon of water. Thanks mate. Have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
Hi Ray, thanks mate. Yes, it's the 9kw. it's the smallest in the inverter range. I'm well impressed with it up to now. I will keep you all up to date on how it all goes. Really looking good up to now. Took my pond from 9c to 14c in the freezing cold and cost £4.40. Should cost less now the ponds up to temp. The Cloverleaf heater cost me more than that, to lift the pond 1 degree in mild weather. Thanks mate and take care, Terry.
Hi mate, Now the ponds up to temp I will reset the power meter so we will know just what it's costing. You take care and stay safe mate. You and Cat have a great Christmas, and all the best for the New Year mate. Terry.
Ji Terry, just wondering what KW model you went for, i have to say i was slightly disappointed in you buying one, i was waiting for the DIY air source heat pump build lol
Hi Michael, I went for the 9kw inverter. lol, now that would have been something lol. I wouldn't know where to start mate. I think my version would have included a pop belly stove somewhere in the build lol. Take care mate and stay safe. Terry.
Jeez! You've got more engineering and life support science supporting those carp than an expedition to Mars. Did you ever consider an "all natural" layout with balanced bio cycles running the works? i.e. just a pond?
Fair play getting out side in that snow terry and can say the same as you it really looks like a nice bit of kit happy days 👍🎁🎄happy Christmas as well terry
Thanks James, very much appreciated mate. I must say, it was bloody cold lol. Take care mate and Happy Christmas to you and your family. Terry.

Redoing the pond next year going to see how you get on this winter with it and consider getting one myself. Stay safe mate and Merry Christmas to you and the lovley Mrs too mate 👍.

Christmas has come early for you Terry I'd be well happy with that
Hi David, that's right mate lol. I did try to get the wife to pay for it as my Christmas present, but that met a dead end lol. Thanks mate, Terry.
Merry Xmas Terry great video as always. Really do want one of those heat pumps.
Haha.. Sorry.. But I feel better seeing that.. It was -20 today with windchill.

Have a great Christmas and a happy New Year and thanks for the hours of attainment terry
Hi Glen, thanks mate, and your very welcome. You take care mate and you and your family have a great Christmas and New Year. Terry.
I've seen people running the cloverleaf by itself, pipe in the cloverleaf directly back into the pond and they seem to be able to maintain temp, but I dont know if the cost changes..
@@Wrighty will do Terry. As soon as I have built the new pond, I will seriously think about it and contact you. Take care.
Looks amazing
Thanks mate, It should be interesting to see how things go. Thanks mate and take care, Terry.
@@Wrighty I'll let you know how I get on with the new WiFi module and App.
Thanks Peter, Will be interesting mate, Terry.
Amazing difference in cost Terry. I want one lol
@@Wrighty cloverleaf started to cost me close on £5 per day to hold 15c so its now off.
Don't blame you mate. That's a lot of money. Terry.
Happy Christmas Terry, great video as always
Thanks mate. You and your family have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe mate, Terry.
Nice video terry , great heaters are they not , what settings have you gone for mate , fair play for being out in the snow 👍👍😀😀
Happy Christmas Terry, enjoy the new year, stay safe, great video, maybe one day i can afford a heat source but not just yet mate
Hi Peter, thanks mate. You'll have to save up and treat yourself mate. Thanks again mate. Have a great Christmas and all the best for the New Year, stay safe, Terry.
What lagging did you use for all your pipework? Any links? Do you also know what sort of water pressure you need pumping through? Thanks 👍
@@Wrighty 2 inch pressure pipe outside diameter is 60mm as well. They only go up to 54. Did you join multiple pieces together in that case? Thanks 👍
All the best merry Xmas

Hi Terry looking good mate, dam that’s going to be a lot cheaper to run, looks excellent mate, I wonder how much one would cost for a 7500 gallon pond, all the best mate regards Matt

Terry I have one you might struggle with the gate valves to get the flow rate through the hp fine tuned I have ball valves on mine
Tell them I sent you (Terry Wright)
