Girl groups have fell out of the trend years ago, Destiny's Child were the only successful girl group during their remaining time in the mid 2000s, then after they disbanded, Danity Kane came along with short lived minor success. Since then groups like Cherish have tried to come along, but they never really make it. Music groups are not as popular as they were in the 90s. And I'm not gonna mention One Direction, because although they are popular here, they are mostly popular with young girls, no where near as huge & popular as N*Sync, BackStreet Boys, Destiny's Child were with people of all ages.
Jeraud Ballard pussycat dolls, sugababes, girls aloud, atomic kitten were successful you have new girl groups emerging - little mix, the saturdays, GRL granted, groups aren´t as successful nowadays as they were back then, but you still have *some which are able to break thru, no matter the type of the audience. (i´m not myself sure about nsync and backstreet boys being for people of all ages, all i remember are plenty of young girls screaming for them, but if you say so...)

why did they dissappear? there really isn´t a female R&B group in the market right now, so this group could make a comeback,imo.
Girl groups have fell out of the trend years ago, Destiny's Child were the only successful girl group during their remaining time in the mid 2000s, then after they disbanded, Danity Kane came along with short lived minor success. Since then groups like Cherish have tried to come along, but they never really make it. Music groups are not as popular as they were in the 90s. And I'm not gonna mention One Direction, because although they are popular here, they are mostly popular with young girls, no where near as huge & popular as N*Sync, BackStreet Boys, Destiny's Child were with people of all ages.
